Tried that. Named to .zip Then to .apk Then to .rar (all file extensions that can be opened on phone...none of them worked.)
On pc now. Will try to download/copy/paste from there...
EDIT: Worked like a charm from the pc. I prefer dl apk files directly to the sd card from the phone, but I will not complain because of these amazing services!
