With Navigation Gestures, you don't have to go out and buy a new phone if you want to change the way you use your phone. This app brings gesture navigation to any Android device!
Best of all, with Navigation Gestures you can completely hide the stock navigation bar
without root! This is the only gesture control app with this feature.
Swipe left, right, up, or down. Swipe up and hold. Tap. Double tap. Long press. There's a lot of ways you can interact with the gesture bar to control your phone. Don’t like how the gesture bar looks? You can customize its appearance! Here’s what you can
do:
- Change pill width
- Change pill height
- Change pill vertical position
You can also customize the action for each gesture, as follows:
Free actions:
- Go back
- Go home
- Open multitasking screen
- Open Assistant
- Switch to previous app (requires Nougat+)
- Hide pill
And if you purchase the premium addon, you get access to the following:
- Split screen (requires Nougat+)
- Pull down notifications
- Pull down quick settings
- Open power menu
- Media: play previous track*
- Media: play next track*
- Media: play/pause current track*
* Media actions are not guaranteed to work with every app. Media actions use standard Android APIs to work with most apps.
What's New
Behavior Changes
Massive performance improvement by increasing delay on Accessibility Service window event subscription (50ms --> 1000ms.) With the performance improvement, there's a minor caveat. You might notice a small added delay in the following areas: lock screen detection, blacklist detection, edge screen detection.
Re-worked the logic for anchoring the pill. From what we've heard, this almost fully fixes the issues where the pill disappears/isn't usable in fullscreen apps/games and keyboard.
Fixed issue where non-full width split pill wasn't performing the right action in each section.
Added new Behavior option called "Keep Overscan on Lock Screen" (name subject to change.) By default, it is disabled. When it's off, the nav bar will remain hidden on the lock screen so you won't see the nav bar show up for a split second when unlocking the screen. However, this causes the lock screen shortcuts to be cut off and also anything else down there won't be visible (like the battery % on the Pixel 2 Always on Display.) Enable this toggle if you need those features.
Increased maximum auto-hide time from 3s to 10s.
Gesture Changes
New Swipe Down and Hold gesture.
New Action Launch Activity (Premium). Launch any apps' (exported) activities on your device.
New Action Rotate Screen (Premium). When you have auto-rotate disabled and you turn your phone physically to another orientation, performing this action will lock your phone's orientation in that direction. This is like the Android P's rotation suggestion feature. This DOES NOT toggle auto-rotate for you. Example: auto-rotate is off and your phone is in portrait mode, but you want to lock it to landscape. Turn your device to landscape mode (physically), perform the gesture that has the Rotate Screen action, and Navigation Gestures will lock the screen in landscape mode.
Tasker Integration (Premium):
Tasker Event Plugin (Premium): Each gesture can now be assigned to trigger a Tasker Event. The action does nothing if you don't set up a corresponding Tasker Event with the corresponding gesture direction. Eg. if you set "swipe up from right and hold" to "Tasker Event" then you must create a Tasker Event and choose "swipe up from right and hold" as the trigger. Tasker Event integration obviously requires you buy Tasker. This is for power users who want the app to do something custom. See below for instructions on how to set up a Tasker Event.
Tasker Plugin to toggle pill/hide nav bar (Premium): Now you can use Tasker to toggle the pill or the app's hide navigation bar feature at will. The plugin can be added to any existing or new Tasker task by selecting the Navigation Gestures plugin.
Steps to set up a Tasker Event
Open Tasker
Tap on the + button
Choose Event
Choose Plugin
Choose Navigation Gestures
Tap the pencil icon
Pick the Gesture that you want to assign a "Tasker Event" to
Tap the checkmark icon to finish
Tap back
Create or assign an existing Task
Once you're done, go back to Navigation Gestures app and set that Gesture to a Tasker Event action
