System tune-up, optimization, tweaking

I decided to come and voice my own opinion as the develop.

Unused & unbought

I can assure you that ROM Toolbox has many users and is bought quite frequently :P
---------------

I'd rather call it malware or even more worse: Virus

This is laughable. The app only deleted a single file and what was that file used for? To remove license verification!
---------------

Do you really think, this is the correct way to get people buy your app? Seriously?

Sales have increased since I started looking at cracked versions more carefully. Need I say more?
---------------

Apps with no damn license-verification.

The only apps with "no damn license-verification" are crappy. Every good paid app I know of has some sort of license verification.
---------------

If you want to test the "app before with all functions" you can try the free version out. I also allow a refund up to 2 weeks if you email me. If you want the app to be "a bit cheaper" wait for a sale. There will be one at the end of July. I also had one not too long ago where half of the sales were donated to cancer research. ROM Toolbox is actually cheaper than its competition (ROM Manager & Titanium Backup).

Like @MickyFoley said, I'm sure piracy won't end. I am also sure the app will be cracked in the future. Cheers fellow Android friends.

PS: It would be interesting to see what mobilism would do if I cracked their app and allowed users to have direct downloads without having to pay a monthly subscription. Would they push their own license verification? Would they delete my post/release?

Nice to make the move here

Titanium backup offers full offline licence to install on all your phones
I personally buy apps, but always look for complete offline method to not always rely on online activation

Playing with file delete on third party apps is a very bad move anyway, what ever is the target app. You could reset cracked part on boot or app launch when Lucky patcher is detected once, make a nag/disable/"self bug" once detected. People would have been even unaware that you detect lucky patcher

Hope you don't begin with send id data of lucky users, mess with root files to cripple app...

I'm assuming he did so to avoid violating the terms of his Android developer license and becoming delisted from the Play market. Google would not take kindly to an app deleting other apps without user approval, no matter the nature of the deleted app.

That being said, I applaud jrummy for coming into the lion's den and intelligently voicing his opinion. May your apps continue to be successes.

I purchased the app a bit back because I use the program quite a bit. Therefore I feel I should pay the guy for his work right?

When developers work into their programs anti/license verifications that delete ANYTHING on MY or ANY OTHER PERSONS personal property with their nomenclature rights I will no longer support anything made by them,
Scare tactic marketing is bullshit, and so are the material rights when you purchase the app which continually verifies for license... I haven't tested offline yet but I read some other posts on here which state that they cannot use the program without the internet or active connections... and if so I would love to have my money back. I'm just glad I haven't sent in a review yet...

/b/rotip: Don't limit legit customers of your application, instead, increase your coding skills (by not limiting actual customers). A perfect example of this would be a nag screen. Plenty of software companies use nag screens and it works equally as well, without losing respect.

Once again, let people buy your work because they respect it and use it, like I do.

"Don't hate the hacker, hate the code!"
If it's on the internet, it can be and most likely will be cracked.

And if you're so keen on your e-mail support before posting a review, please take this with two wide ears.

Just my two cents... @jrummy

+1

The moment it deleted a file in sdcard and reboot the phone without my consent, i've erased all trace of the dev apps in my phone including the free root browser. Too much risk with root given to it.

it was good of jrummy to finally consider coming here....

we are not all some big pirates looting people or government.... just a small bunch of user who are using a cracked version of some apps ....
i do personally buy many apps which i like/want and also donate version to support the developers....
i ll be waiting for your "Sale" so that i can officially support the development with a purchase...

till then, thanks mobilism :)

I finally bought it. You can't blame a developer for trying to protect his work -- very successfully btw. Complaining about is is just pathetic.

i purchased this app with the intention of customizing status bar icons and changing boot logo, neither work with my phone
emailed dev and the answer was not all phones supported also that changing boot logo can damage phone, though i appreciate
dev getting back to me, why advertise an app that does not do what is advertised.

uninstalled app
