Nice work! In what specific way were you able to simplify the patch though? I can't imagine that the patch would require much more than modifying a single boolean return value.

MohammadAG took the long way of enabling it by rewriting the entire logic that handles notifications. I opted to listen for a parameter regarding rich notifications to be sent elsewhere and hijack and force a return true only for that parameter.
