Seems like WidgetLocker is becoming the new tasker when (based on how difficult the app is to crack). It's gonna become grail-like pretty soon.... Maybe we'll get lucky and lohan will take notice!

Is there any reason to downgrade if you're running 1.2.7 and are rooted so ads are blocked?

No, the only reason you see most people complaining is because the cracked version is supposed to remove all ads. Heck you may as well skip this fail-cracked version and just grab the free one from the market. That way you'll get updates too and your ad blocking solution should still keep you ad free.

Unfortunately for those of us without root, it appears that we're stuck with 1.2.4 if we don't want ads

There's a free version that's the exact same but with ads? I don't see it on appbrain or in my market.

I don't see any ads (have a block on them as root) but I do get a popup nag that delays unlock by 3 seconds. I looked up the older versions of this app and it looks like it has been present since 1.2.5 (even the cracked version). It'd be great if there was any updated status on the cracks, but this free with ads version sounds good except I cannot find it.

Anyone know anything more?

This widget is less than $2. I don't understand why you folks want to go thru all these troubles without buying the paid version. If you want it free, get the ad version. It is a fair trade.

@b33zy682: Yes I'm rooted and I still get the pirate popup with 3 sec delay. I do not see ads though (thanks to root). I haven't tried 1.2.5 or 1.2.6 but I saw posts here saying that you'll still get the popup and ads. I'm using 1.2.4 without problem (for now).

I'm not sure how it determines if you're a pirate but it's either not network based (I was blocking its process' connection to the net) or it connects through another process (like market) or simply determines if it can't connect with the network, it's being pirated.

How to disable piracy check ?

Get droidwall(free ) from the market and block widgetlocker. )

edit: turn off data connection/wifi and clear data/cache befor blocking

I agree. I gave up and purchased this, I mean for 1.99 who cares. Latest version has extra sliders as well. Worth it if you ask me. There are other apps out there that are over priced I would rather get form here, but you can't seem to get them anywhere.
