Thanks for that. I have to say that I have installed the 'Next Notification' and 'Next Switch', both of which I can do without, so I will give that a shot.
What about restoring your UI, did you use the Next Launcher backup and restore?

I only got the pop-up when I installed Next Notification. After that I uninstalled Next Notification, then Next Launcher and cleared Dalvik Cache. I did not wipe my ROM.

Second that, and I also installed always over the old version. I even used the backup and restore of the launcher.

Much appreciated for your input.

Yes I did and it did not give me a pop-up as long as there was no "Next Notification" or any of the Next widgets.

Interesting, i do not get any popup, but seems like Next Launcher will stop working after a while and the phone will go back to my stock launcher.
In order to make the Next launcher to work i need to reinstall it again.
I guess we need a patched version of it :S i don`t know.
This is the first time i have problems with this launcher. All other versions are working correct.
I can`t even restore my old backups with this version. But if i use another version i can restore my backups.

Thanks for the tip regarding Go widgets.

Btw... I wouldn't mind paying for it. I just think it is still too raw. For example if you add a apps folder to the home screen it doesn't stay in sync with the apps page. For any additional app you add to a folder you have to delete the folder in home screen and add it again. To me this is a no go bug.

I was wondering... Go Next Swich is a nice addition. Has anyone tried to keep it?

I've never had the pop-up window after restarting the phone, I've seen it right after updating next launcher but that is kinda logical as the system detects that the default launcher is no longer installed so it either goes back to the stock one or does nothing, just press the home key and the pop-up appears to select the new updated next launcher or the stock one, I just select next launcher again as default and never have problems with it.

I think it is common for a program to not keep the "default" status after an update as it has happened to me with other apps, especially if you have more than 1 app that does the same job or registers itself as the default file type handler for certain file types.

I do have some next widgets (music, switch and clock) but not the notification's one, no problems here at all.

Maybe you should try an app that checks the default apps in the system. I use default app manager

Delyrium, I think that you have misunderstood a bit. The popup that people are talking about is not to set the default launcher, it is the licence verification popup. When this pops up it can disable Next Launcher meaning that you have to re-install.

I have indeed, my bad and thanks for clearing it up neblap.

Never seen that one either, and, given what people have said, not testing that notifications widget.

Just to add, I do install the new next launcher over the old one with no problems at all. And I haven't downloaded none of the next launcher versions from site.
