Idea Library 3.0 (public beta and freeware)
Requirements: WM5
Overview: This is a Preview Release of ADB Idea Library 3 (ADBIL3) for the Pocket PC. ADBIL3 is an update to the current ADB Idea Library v2.x application. ADBIL3 is currently only available for Pocket PC 2002 or later devices and is not compatible with the Desktop version. An updated Desktop version will be available in a few weeks.

ADBIL3 Release 1 does not provide any new interface changes, but does contain a major design change from using an older Pocket Access format (used with ADBIL v2.x) to a newer open source database (sqlite) format. As such, the end user will not see much of a difference between ADBIL v2.02 and ADBIL3, but internally there was enough change to justify a major version (from 2 to 3) numbering update. Additional user-requested feature changes will happen once the Desktop version is updated.
ADBIL3 is a different install than ADBIL v2.x. This means you can run both ADBIL v2.x and ADBIL3 at the same time.
Instructions
1) To use ADBIL3 with any old (v2.x) data, you will need to download IdeaConverter.exe to your Pocket PC and then run it. IdeaConverter.exe is a utility for converting old Pocket Access-based library files (.cdb) to new ADBIL3 library format (.idb). Note: you must still have ADBIL v2.x installed, and you must use ADBIL v2.x to decrypt any existing password protected v2.x databases before converting.
2) Once you have converted your old v2.x library databases, you should download the ADBIdea3.sa.CAB to your device and run the CAB file on your device to install ADBIL3. Note: this will create a new ADBIL3 shortcut in your Programs and will be installed at \Program Files\HappyJackRoad\ADBIdea3. Also, since ADBIL3 is not an upgrade install to ADBIL v2.x, you will need to reconfigure your various ADBIL3 preferences the first time you run ADBIL3.
During this transition from ADBIL v2.x to ADBIL3, please send support issues to mailto:[email protected]
