Plucker v0.6.3 (Freeware)
Requirements: Plucker runs on Microsoft Windows, Linux, Mac OS X, Palm handheld devices, Windows Mobile devices and handheld devices powered by Linux.
Overview: Plucker is an offline Web and free eBook reader for Palm OS® based handheld devices, Windows Mobile (PocketPC) devices and other handheld PDAs. Plucker contains POSIX tools, scripts and "conduits" which work on UNIX, Linux, Microsoft Windows and Apple OS X. These let you decide exactly what part of the World Wide Web you'd like to convert for reading on your PDA. These web pages are then processed, compressed, and transferred to the PDA for viewing by the Plucker viewer.

Hum... DaM79, "the best ebook reader...", maybe, but... not the "best formatted release" for sure. Please correct your post to suit the site's release template. Look HERE if you want to know how that looks, eventually use this Releaser Tool to help you build up your release post. Feel free to ask if something isn't clear.

Only when it's correctly formatted the release can be categorized and you will be rewarded...

:D :D :D :D :D

Anyone have tried this software?
I'm touching up with, but I don't find the way to convert documents (doc, pdf...) to plucker format. I have installed the desktop companion, of course, but the process is anything but clear.
Nothing in the wiki about.
Any experience?
Thanks and regards.

Yep, I tried it out. In my opinion, the main advantage is, that it supports complete websites. I downloaded the Cia World Factbook Textversion and wanted to create a ebook for mobipocket out of it. But from the text version, mobipocket did not adopt the links. So it did not work out. Then I found this plucker, and just in one pass it built a nice ebook with all links working etc. See sample video on youtube

If someone wants to try the CIA World Factbook, downloads here:
http://rapidshare.com/files/218952217/CIAWorldFactbook.rar.html (only 10x)
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=8R74X4SL

So I can recommend plucker for ebooks out of downloaded webpages, but I guess for doc, pdf mobipocket should be your choice...

"the best ebook reader..." was just a copy paste from the webpage of origin...

I'm really eager to try this.

Right now, the award goes to Repligo until I can see which is better.

Removed "The best HTML and ebook reader for Palm and Windows mobile devices (a Free Software Project)" after thetitle.
Added (freeware) after the title
Removed the "new line" after "overview"
Added version number

Overall... nice release, DaM79 , thanks! Rewarded 5 WRZ$ for freeware. Category: Office and productivity.

I deleted this. It was NOT what I expected. I expected something like Repligo, but found it to be different than my needs.

Repligo is still king.
