Enhanced Data Control (through SMAPs)
* Application Targeting — Set a specific application within SerialMagic Pro so data isn't sent to the wrong application

* Spreadsheet Columns — additional data control for more effective and hands-off scanning into spreadsheets
* Prompt for Quantity — For simple inventory tracking needs, this feature allows the user to enter quantities after each bar code is scanned

Startup Features
* Auto Launch — SerialMagic Pro can automatically launch and activate on computer or device startup

Hm, I somehow don't get it. Do I need extra hardware to read and work with barcodes here or can I use the camera in my PDA to "scan" the barcode on a package? As it seems I do need extra stuff when I understand it correct. Is there any similar application available which uses the internal camera for this? Like some "barcode-OCR" for WM?

You need a barcode scanner, you can get Bluetooth ones or serial port ones. For phones a bluetooth one is by far the most common.
