Only for cars that support android auto, check with your car manufacturer that it is supported. Most newer cars are supported.

USB Data cable:
plug a USB cable into your vehicle's data USB port (not a "charging only" port) and plug the other end of the cable into your Android phone. Your phone might ask you to download the Android Auto app or update to the newest version of the app. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete setup. Pretty simple setup really. Make sure you are using a high speed/good quality usb cable otherwise you will get disconnects and errors while using the app.

Connecting to android auto wireless:
The first time you connect your phone to the car, you're required to pair your phone and car via Bluetooth. For best results, keep Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Location Services turned on during setup. Make sure your car is in park (P). Make sure your vehicle is parked. Tap the gray ANDROID AUTO icon on the infotainment screen. Pair/connect your phone to the infotainment system using Bluetooth. Follow the prompts on the screen and on your phone to start.
