As of right this minute and all day today the latest version of WeatherBug Elite is FREE in the Amazon Android App Market.

As of right this minute and all day today the latest version of WeatherBug Elite is FREE in the Amazon Android App Market.


That's where this is from. It's been patched for people that can't or won't use the Amazon app store.

I'll be damned, I didn't know Amazon even had an App Store, much less that they gave away a paid app every day.
It was a little bit of a hassle getting it setup (it kept prompting me to change my "1-click" settings), but once I sorted that out it did in fact download a newer version (I had already purchased for the original).

Apologies... and thanks for the tip.

Still curious though why Amazon has this, and not the Android default Market...
(I'd love to see a changelog)

Does the radar function actually work in this? How about the ads/bloat?

I've been using an older version of the weather channel app.. Very clean, to the point, and everything works. V 2.3

To answer my own question.. I went ahead and setup the amazon acct, downloaded the program and the radar images did indeed load properly.

However, the amazon market is a major fail!@#

The downloaded apk included some amazon specific content. This content uses the amazon app installer to verify/authenticate the downloaded apps.

In other words, amazon apps are not transferable between phones. If you don't have the amazon app above, the program refuses to run. It goes to reason they are not transferable between different amazon accounts either.

I'll stick with the links provided above instead!

My Location doesn't work on my Captivate. I get a "Failed to update My Location- No Signal" error standing outside. Can't replicate on free version. Using Infinitely's patched file btw.
