The application emit a very unique high frequency sound (ultra sound) that the insects dislike. The pitch of the sound is so high that most humans will not notice anything.
Keep the application close to you and enjoy the outdoors without bites..
There are about 3500 known mosquito species in the world and they all react slightly different to the repeller. Use the pitch selector to find optimal repelling frequency for the mosquitos in your region.

I can't see it working either but you never know; guess I'll have to wait for warmer weather to test it out.

Why are these post listed as 'FREE'?

The pitch of the sound is so high that most humans will not notice anything.

So more than likely even if it was for real the low quality speakers in our cellphones wont have the frequency response to actually reproduce this ultra sound ;)

Low quality? I say modern cellphone speaker fidelity is quite impressive considering the size limitation inherent to their small form factors. How do you expect a tiny speaker to accurately produce the full audible spectrum? Cellphone "speakers" are actually very good for producing high and ultra high frequency sounds...

simply replace the word mosquito with teenager! = best app ever!!
or indeed any dog whistle app set the frequency to a pitch that your mature ears can't hear, walk through the mall (or shopping centre if you're where i'm from) and watch 'em squirm!! makes me sound old and bitter but hey I'm old, so my bitterness is deserved and my ear don't can't discriminate anything that a 14 year old's can!!

I can vouch for the ant teenager app..i work at a school and those pesky kids can be a pain in the backside sometimes..turn this on and we never got disturbed for the 5 or so minutes we had it on..it does have a side effect for me, i might not hear it, but it did give me a headache...

Relief from Mosquitoes?? No way, I tried in my house (quite infested by mosquitoes) using Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc. Mosquitoes initially just laughed at me and bit me with vengeance.. Then I tried all other settings available in this app. The mosquitoes got more angry with the new sounds then they called more reinforcement to attack me more...

My opinion... THIS IS TOTAL CRAP.... DO NOT EVEN TRY IT... :(
