TABLET BETA - new versio 2.1.1 for test

You are coming close, much better now all starts and works but not yet perfect see link
The blue white screencapture note that the text is not right. Topic flowers and suddenly clouds below

Again, Thanks for the feedback, Comviq

It is most useful to actually be able to view the errors.

- I don't understand why you get clouds stuff when you choose Wild Flowers. This is not correct at all. The tablet display will not affect this part of the program. Is your data folder in order? Because this suggests some database error to me. I will look into it. But this is how it looks on my phone..

- Display. The buttons are located too high up and need to be placed nearer the bottom of the display. And the text could be wider across the screen. It also looks like the text display does not show all the information. Can you scroll up and see all the infomation text?

- Text size: I would say the text labels need to be larger for such a big screen. Unfortunately, Basic4Android cannot change the text's size for different screen sizes. I would have to do it manually in code, label by label. But the text in the information window could be larger and easier to read for tablets. I will have to give this some thought on how sizing of text in the tablet display might be achieved.

HERE IS A NEW APK TO TRY v2.1.1

It attempts to make the Topics/Category/Items buttons larger text for tablets. It also attempts to fix the text description display by using the width of the tablet screen for text. If this works for you I will release it.

Hi Sarah, I've installed 2.1.1 on my LG 3D phone and its still working fine for me. Any chance you can look at "landscape" when the phones rotated? This will help a lot with the "detail" option. The ability to zoom in would also add tremendously to this great app.
I notice you made reference to a "new" phone? well to a higher resolution one? what do you have now I wonder
I've been trying to get your PC version running under Linux with the wine emulator, it installed fine and I managed to get the data folder in the Nature Explorer directory but I'm having issues getting the .net framework to install, maybe Msoft put some detection in there? From what I've read online it should install to wine OK..........? oh well, something to play at

Here's a screen grab of 2.1.1 on the LG, Regards, Pete

The .Net 2.0 is essential to get it to work on Linux. This is the best reason for me to continue with Windows 7. None of my older software would run on Linux.

I got a slightly better phone (zte Blade/san francisco) with a more standard screen size. It has helped massively in debugging.

Landscape mode: I have looked at this for tablets. For other phone like devices the screen isn't really big enough to display the main images in landscape mode. A tablet landscape mode would make more sense as this is more of a landscape moded device and the screen is large enough for more than one display to be visible. That would make a good display, being able to view images and texts at once.

The links in the main post are working. I notice I needed to click the button a second time after it says it is creating the download link as the first time it didn't do it. I will be uploading the whole program fileset again shortly as I am about to add REPTILES to the topics. :)
