It didn't recognize SD data files by placing it manually, I downloaded the data over WiFi. But no ads, thank you.

While you have the market/english version installed, go in to options and see if there is a language selection option, if there is note how you got there. Then go back to this version, follow the steps in the options you noted and try to change it back to English. Now I have not installed this yet but that is a way to fix situations like yours.
