Overview: Ikaruga (斑鳩, lit. Japanese Grosbeak) is a shoot 'em up video game developed by Treasure. It was released in the arcades in 2001 on the Sega NAOMI, subsequently released on Dreamcast in Japan and then worldwide on the Nintendo GameCube, and was released on Xbox Live Arcade on April 9, 2008. It is a spiritual sequel to Radiant Silvergun.



The gameplay consists of shooting enemies who come in one of two polarities: either black or white (sometimes called red or blue). The player's ship can be either polarity, and can be switched at will. Treasure previously experimented with colors and polarity in the Sega Saturn title Radiant Silvergun as well as Silhouette Mirage, released for both the Saturn and the PlayStation. Ikaruga was well received by critics.

■ＳＴＯＲＹ
人の自由を望み、鳳来に戦いを挑む組織「天角」（テンカク）があった。
彼らは「飛鉄塊」（ヒテッカイ）と呼ばれる戦闘機を使い、鳳来と戦っていたが、次第に勢力を失い、全滅する。
しかし、その中で奇跡的に生き残った青年がいた。その名を「森羅」（シンラ）という。

森羅は、再び単身で鳳来に向かっていくが、敢え無く撃墜され、人里離れた村へ墜落する。
その村は「斑鳩の里」といい、選民思想のしわ寄せで、世間から捨てられた老人達の村、俗に言う姥捨て山であった。
森羅は、長老「風守老人」をはじめとする老人達に助けられ一命を取りとめる。
やがて、全快した森羅は、再び鳳来に挑むことを老人達に告げる。老人達は武装もせず旅立とうとする森羅に、自分達の意地で作り上げた飛鉄塊「斑鳩」を託すのだった。

今、斑鳩の壮絶な戦いが幕を開ける

It worked using Lucky Patcher 2.8.2 on Automode. N1, N2 and N3 were patched. After that delete Lucky Patcher then download the 169 MB data.

Setup was similar to Espgaluda 2 and DODONPACHI RESURRECTION.

Yes, I wonder why that is the case. Why must be delete LP or else it detects the error code? This is the first time I am encountering such problem. And it seems all GGee games are like that.

I can't get it to work, I can't get past the registration.
What I did:
-Installed ikaruga apk, didn't launch
-launched LP (busybox in installed, as well as Root and su binaries of course)
-Patches done (1/2/3)
-launched the game, got the registration page. Pressed back. Had to relaunch it, and I can"t get past this page. No data download.

Please help, I love this game and really want to play it

Work great on my GS,rooted.I have no registration,only 169 mb data by wifi.Hard game.

Works like a charm, seems not to detect LP following their name change. Any sightings of the 12.10.02 versions of Espgaluda or DoDonPachi DOJ? They were updated in Japan, but in other markets and the 12.07.04 versions have broken sound on 4.2.x.

so how does it play? i had ikaruga on dreamcast and xbox360 arcade an its a hard one! maybe the touch controls are a advantage???

It's quite hard to play to be honest but the graphics are virtually identical to the Dreamcast. Right down to the backgrounds. This needs a western release & gamepad support.

At xoom I have some weird bug, the game starts with small border on left/right of screen. It plays alright.

Suddenly the game fits to screen, removing the borders, and the touch dies when that happen.

Abyone else experiencing that?

It's hard to play, unlike the Cave games, there's no touch-tuned mode. You need to change and toggle shooting a lot in Ikaruga, on-screen buttons seem to be decidedly less than ideal for that. It's visually impressive though.

Yeah, graphics are amazing. But it is really hard to pay...not because it is actually hard, but die to the touch controls. You move by dragging around the screen. This is OK, but you always feel w/ a controller things will be better. More than that though, don't forget Ikaruga is different to other bullet hell shooters - the polarity switching mechanic. Also, chains are very important here so auto-shoot works against the core of the game.

With that in mind, you have three buttons. One change be changed to a tap anywhere on the screen (I did this to the color change).

Alas, it doesn't work well, and only serves to make an already hell of a game harder. The true beauty of the game as such doesn't come across.

Needs new version upload since the newest version is 12.10.07. Installing the v12.10.04 with lucky patcher allows you to download the additional data needed but then the game ask you to download the update from google play.
