Make sure you have the latest version. Open menu of patches, choose Remove Ads -> Patch Google Ads. Don't change the default settings, just click ok and wait. I got 2 successful (green) and 2 failed patches (red) but it worked. There were no more ads afterwards.

Lucky did not work for me. And these are getting more annoying with videos loading that you can't skip, full page ad transitions, and banners in the play screen.

I will wait until a mod.

A small update - what I did was build a ad-removed modded apk and installed that then restored my data. I still had ads. Then I went back and uninstalled/reinstalled that mod apk and played it new - no ads. But I have a ton of levels finished and power ups "bought" from pervious mods that I do not want to give up. I guess I will still wait.

For those who don't want ads during game play, you have 2 options:
1) Disable internet connection (wifi & mobile data) before playing.
2) Install an app name "AdAway", it will block all type of ads. It isn't available on Play Store anymore, you have to google search it and you must have ROOT access.

You can, by disable internet connection (wifi / mobile data) before playing, or just play in airplane/flight mode.
