When i download the modded apk it is still 1.2.0 not the new one.Also i tried to update from the modded 1.2.0 to the new one and i get a google play service error.I have the obb changed to newer version.Am i doing something wrong?

I have the obb file from playstore and just noticed when i open it deletes the obb file,maybe thats why im getting error.

What's manifest.data for... Why won't you answer

Install the modded version, now backup your data with titanium backup (need root), after that uninstall the game.
Now install the one from google play and don`t start the game, first restore your backup with titanium backup and start the game.

@mindgames thanks for your feedback.. I haven't made my backup yet as it takes a while to give yourself everything..lol.. I must have opened atleast 600 chests at 500 you get a trophy lol, and I still don't have everything.. Level 2,3, VIP stuff is where its at, level 1 until VIP status is reached you can only equip what you get from chests.. Level 2+ buy them all, kinda like properties got them all and skills I'm maxed not even a point blank rocket can stop me..

@trueiceman the modded zip from simos's link contained all you needed, apk and obb the icon.png and manifest.data file i still dont know what they are for its a mystery.. But i did exactly this 1. i put obb/com.gameloft on root of sdcard/ no particular reason other than I read someone say their gangstar Vegas obb file would disappear from obb folder once game was installed.. So I installed apk with a file manager (root explorer) then moved gangstsr Vegas obb which includes a patch to android/obb and ran with internet don't know if it was needed but I did and it works no problems except after opening a couple hundred chests you get a error opening or it fails to open with a prompt, simply exiting game and starting again will let you open another vouple hundred.

thanks for the detailed steps, i got it working. I downloaded the game from the other post in here and had problems but not with the first post. hope i didn't get a trojan or something, lol.

What about non-rooted phones?
