No.

You'll find that you'll start getting smashed after you get to a certain level unless you spend the money. I spent 20 bucks and got enough to get to about "medium good" in terms of weapons and armour levels and it was fun again for another 10 levels, looks like I need to spend another 10 - 20 bucks if I want to play at level 30+ without getting creamed most of the time.

Although I sorta went through and bought a lot of different weapons with "frivolous" addons as well, like adding silencers for example costs a lot of real dollars, so maybe you could get enough items using just 20 bucks if you concentrated on say heavy machine guns and sniper rifles rather than getting everything.

Credit where it's due Madfinger do give you a decent enough playthrough for free (<level 20) and you don't need to spend that much.

(However in reality I only spent $2 to buy 30 bucks worth of Google Play credit through a scheme that my telco provider has where you trade data for Google Play credit ... handy if you can get it. I'm using Telstra in AU
