Hello there.. Sorry i'm new and I can't get this working... i downloaded both the apk and the sd data and I followed all of the steps needed, but after I installed the game for the first time and tried to run it, it only said "an error occurred" and it exited the game, so I tried uninstalling and doing it all over again, and when I launched the game it said "Charging" and kept doing that till i got bored and stopped it.
In short: it doesn't work! anyone knows why?
I have a galaxy mini 2 and I'm sure the game's compatible with it since I can find and purchase it on the market...

It's okay now. I managed to find the correct obb path by myself
for my Note 2 already.

sdcard0/Android/obb/com.square_enix.android_googleplay.FFIII_GP/<sdcardfile>.obb

Hey, could someone help me please?

When i connect my phone on the computer it doesn't show the Android/obb folders on my SD Card. It only have LOST.DIR.

I could find it via Astro Manager (not sure if that's the right name, but couldn't paste the obb files there. I've tried to create diretcly on my SD Card an Android/obb folder, renamed the folder and .obb file correctly and it is not working.

I've tried to paste some music files to my original obb folder, but it displayed the same error: "it wasn't possible to record the file".

Can someone help me?

P.s. the path to obb folder, after Astro informations, is mnt/obb. It have some other folders like emmc (which is the SD Card) and sdcard (whic is the phone!). And the path to the obb folder i created is mnt/emmc/Android/obb/main.102blablabla...
Don't know if this information is useful in anyway.

Do you have root explorer? If you do, what does the "EXTERNAL_STORAGE" environment variable show?
do this in a terminal:
echo $EXTERNAL_STORAGE
and
mount

Thanks for your answer, but it was not needed. I wasa trying to create this folder on this external memory. When I did it onto the phone's memory it worked. I had to create a obb folder and put the .apk inside another folder named after the .rar I downloaded, or it wouldn't work.

It just really confuses me this thing os SD Card being the phone memory!

Yeah, putting the .obb file from the download into a folder called com.square_enix.android_googleplay.FFIII_GP works perfectly. So the structure is this:

Android>obb>com.square_enix.android_googleplay.FFIII_GP>and inside this folder you place the main.102.com.square_enix.android_googleplay.FFIII_GP.obb.

The game starts perfectly for me now. When I unrar'd the file the .obb just came out, it wasn't inside a folder. So not until I read this thread did I know that you had to create a com.square_enix.android_googleplay.FFIII_GP folder inside the obb folder.

Anyways, thanks.

DO NOT PRESS THE 'WRENCH' ICON when you run the game! it will delete your .obb data file!

Just start the game!

I have installed the files and I have placed them where all of the instructions say to (aside from my phone saying SDcard0) when I try to run the file it keeps telling me that connection is lost. Could someone please advise me what I am doing wrong, or what I need to change so I can get this to run? Thank you in advance.

I'm amazed that a game like this - which has a much higher production value than other SE games - has a much more flimsy DRM than, say, Chrono Trigger.
It's not that I mind - this is a great re-imagining of the original.

You need to connect your phone to computer and explore it to the folder named Android then create a new folder named obb then take the file that you downloaded from here and unzip it on your computer and then copy the new unzipped folder into the obb folder on your phone and now the game should start perfectly for you.
