Oh, that's right, he had actually purchased it and uploaded those. My mistake.

I tried those ones too and now I get the download prompt. Yep, looks like we'll have to wait for the newest version to be cracked now.

Weird. All I did was replace the previous obb file, installed the updated version, and all I get is the download prompt.

Just to be sure, your new .obb has a 101 in its name instead of 100? I mean, you didn't rename it, did you?

After updating FFD, which worked just fine, I completely uninstalled v1.0.0 and then installed v1.0.1, just to see what steps are really needed for the new version, and it also worked just fine.
Of course I made a backup of /data/data/com.square_enix.android_googleplay.ffl_gp/files/save.bin before uninstall and restored it after the new install.;)

thanks for the detailed instructions. tried 1.0.0 and didn't work, so just ended up wiping the install with TB, downloaded 1.0.1 and followed your steps, worked perfectly, had no errors when i tried to open it. got into the game right away. all i needed was the apk and the data folder to be in /android/obb. also installed the chelpus play store fix beforehand. thanks.

Anyone have any luck finding a v1.0.2 apk? Says it "fixed a bug," whatever that is. Hopefully the music clipping.

This method works on all devices on android 4.0 or higher.. Andy device with Android 4.0 or higher

1. Install patched Google Play Store v3.10.10 by ChelpuS & SaNXeVC - this one is the latest version
2. Install FINAL FANTASY DIMENSIONS v1.0.0 APK
3. Copy main.100.com.square_enix.android_googleplay.ffl_gp.obb from SD files to /sdcard/Android/obb/com.square_enix.android_googleplay.ffl_gp
4. Copy dl.bin from TB data to /sdcard/Android/data/com.square_enix.android_googleplay.ffl_gp/files. If you look in the .rar you will find it!
5. Play!

NO WiFi required! NO Titanium Backup required!

Honestly, I had it working the first day - then for some reason, when I tried to run it, it would change screen to landscape mode for a split second then force close back to launcher. (with no message or popup toast, just force closed)

I uninstalled, reinstalled - then ran offline (airplane mode on) and it worked fine.

And btw, the patched market is the best thing to hit android since LP. ChelpuS is the man.

Does this still need root to work?

I think it does, because it requires the modded Google Play Store to run.

I got a couple of questions regarding that tutorial.

1.- Once we install that google thing, do we need to do something with it? Like open it, configure it, anything?
2.- The FF Apk install, does it bring up some files on the Tablet? Do we do something with them?
3.- This copy the file place is done from WITHIN the Tablet or we connect to USB to do the process? This "obb" folder is a default one or must it be created (also can it be created without issues)?
4.- Must it be sdcard/Android/data/Obb? Or sdcard/Android/data works just as fine?
