@estimulo: Of course, you can resize to anything you want, just choose a starting resolution that lets you keep the aspect ratio.
@mirurim: The conversion will be completely overhauled, but it will take time. The problem is that the support for bitmaps in C++ Builder has some quirks, and saved bitmaps are not what the converter expects.

sorry gps4blackjack my english is very poor. What I am asking is about IgoSkinWizard user interface (the main program) that can not be run correctly with 600 px height.
I will try to make a screenshot.
Thanks

Noted, I'll see about making the window shorter.

Please clarify me, what is effect of "Scale bitmaps in "common" folder" checkbox? I didn't notice any difference is this checked or unchecked..
If I understand correctly, with checked box it should resize common's folder bitmaps in same way as for new resolution. Or I'm lost? :?

@arkoko: No, it's an experimental (and sadly useless) feature: it "scales" the bitmaps by scaling their width "w=N" attribute in the script files that refer to them. It's useless because unless you set "highres=1", iGo does not do the scaling, and setting it needlessly doubles the screen size. This "scaling" will be removed in the next version.

One possible bug.
Regarding replacing numbers. Rules.ui file:
Code: Select allnGPSViewGlobeCX=|ifnumber:replace:{108}
nGPSViewGlobeCY=|ifnumber:replace:{94}
nGPSViewGlobeRX=|ifnumber:replace:{60}

Original ui file:
Code: Select all<var nGPSViewGlobeCX=75>
<var nGPSViewGlobeCY=88>
<var nGPSViewGlobeRX=54>

and output looks like this:
Code: Select all<var nGPSViewGlobeCX=10>
<var nGPSViewGlobeCY=9>
<var nGPSViewGlobeRX=6>

@miruim: There's been some progress, I made things work with transparency, but I'm still having trouble with reducing the color count. Turns out the compressed RLE format supports up to 65536 colors, but only up to 250 colors are encoded efficiently. The iPIE author has been kind enough to allow me to use his library, but the amount of work required to use it is similar to implementing my own. I already have color reduction and just need the load/save to the RLE format. BTW, if anyone has the specs please speak up ;).
@arkoko: I'll look into it, thanks. BTW, what resolutions are you trying to convert? I need the scale factor.

I convert from 400x240. IMHO, this is best option for 800x480 ( multiple by 2).
I published gurjon skin (v.5.9) 800x480 for public test in skin thread.

@miruim: Well, some bitmaps fail to compress because they have more than 250 colors, but iGo handles regular bitmaps just fine, so I guess I could put up a new release. I need to look into arkoko's bug report before that. I suppose I could also add support for using iPIE for batch conversion instead of the iGo converter. It'll take another day or two.

@gps4blackjack: I have one proposal to iGoSkinWizard.
In case of proportional x-y resizing (as 400_240 -> 800_480, it means .bmp zooming 200%) may be is good idea to add zoom=2000 or multiple by 2 existing zoom=xxx in common folder, as switchable option. Instead of current "Scale..." with W=xxx and instead of real bitmaps resizing?

@arkoko: Can you confirm that zoom works without "highres=1"?
I've taken out the "w=" scaling and now optionally copy all the files (including from common folder in skin zip and data.zip) and scale them. I leave out files in resolution directories of data.zip, so I guess that assumes user will only resize to "standard" resolutions.
New version coming out soon, debugging...

Yes, zoom works with highres=0.
