It is build in by microsoft in cprog.exe. No fancy stuff needed (thank god for that)
It will record wav files in "my documents" that have names like ~VRec_0.wav

The quoted registry edit works fine for me. I'm not sure which ROM I have, since I bought my Sprint Touch Pro already flashed with a modified ROM, but the AKU is 1.4 if that helps.
