SMS-Chat is an SMS messenger that organizes SMS correspondence into threaded SMS conversations. This way you have a separate chat for every contact with whom you exchange short text messages like in IM programs. Multiple sms sending, templates, call back, clickable links.

Using SMS on a Windows Mobile device can be annoying because the messages aren't threaded. This is a feature that we've hoped Microsoft would have included by now, but they haven't. VITO Technology has recently released a solution for those of us that crave IM-like SMS conversations as found in other operating systems. Is SMS-Chat just a novelty, or does it make SMS much more usable? Read on to see!

The hot factor for this application is that it threads the messages together. It is not as sophisticated as other applications that thread messages such as Extreme Text on the Motorola Q, however SMS-Chat works with the operating system rather than the make of phone, so it has more usability despite being a less sophisticated product. There is certainly room for development as you'll see soon.

SMS-Chat 1.22 released with major bug fixes!

We are glad to anounce the release of the new version of SMS-Chat 1.22 with major bug fixes:
all texts from the same person are being filed into one thread, there are no duplicate number issues with the area codes
no more errors when sending an SMS

Some other minor bugs have also been fixed.

For some reason this version and the last one (1.21) turns to landscape mode when I start it...I have a square-screened Treo 700wx so I want it to stay in portrait mode...v1.20 does not have this problem...any ideas?

I wish someone can integrate this into a ROM for the Omnia. I really love this program...best and most user-friendly and finger-friendly chat program ever!

Don't know if i can post it here but i made a skin for the program. Its a modified version of the 'light' skin and just adds more colour.

I love it, man. Thx a lot. Any more skins? Could I ask a little help? I wonder whether NEW button could be placed at the bottom (like the dark skin)? Cos i use my right hand to type and I feel NEW button at the bottom is more convinient. Thx b4.

I installed this version over version 1.21 and now when I start the program It locks up. I get the wm5 spinning 4 colour busy indicator as well as the gray overlay with the spinning smschat wait inditactor. if I press hang up it drop back the the shell and I can then close from the task manager. it will also pickup the incomming messages with the notifier but then I cannot open the program.

has anyone expirenced this? I have uninstalled the program, deleted the files that remained, deleted the Vito Registry I could find and then tried to reinstall three different versions and none of them will work.
