Want an excuse to get out of a boring meeting? Or a not-going-anywhere date? Adarian's Fake Ringing is here to save you!

This simple application plays the ringtone on your cell phone as if someone is calling you. You can pick up the fake call, talk to the phone for a while, and then: "I'm sorry, but I have to go now. My dog just got run over by a car!"

You can ignore or reject a fake call as if you really don't want to leave, but the calls keep coming in. Or you can talk to the "caller" and refuse to leave, but he just kept calling. No matter what, when real calls come in, the phone is put in silence mode so that nobody knows you're faking a call, but you still won't miss any really important calls.

The program can even display a fake caller's picture on the screen to cheat prying eyes!

Here are some key features of "Fake Ringing":
· Large display for easy operation;
· Plays the ringtone after a few minutes or at a specified time;
· Any music file can be used as the ringtone as long as Windows Media Player can play it;
· Fully customizable user interface and fake caller information.

Broad,

Thanks for this utility. I just wish that the program would rename itself to something other than Fake Ringing. I like leaving my phone in plain sight where others could see this utility light up and ring the phone. Granted someone would really have to be looking at the screen but if it was listed as iFoney or other creative title, the non-owner would not be tipped off.

That way if I choose to quote miss or ignore the caller, the second call back seems a better reason for picking up the phone and leaving a meeting.

The most handy tool while visiting your mother-in-law :lol: :lol:

On the Xperia installing went okay. ( I use WM6.1)
When you say, "ring after 10 minutes" he start the countdown. so far so good.
After 1 minute my display turns off, and there is where the problem start. He stops the countdown. When you turn the screen on again 5 minutes later he switches after a second in one time from "9:43" to "4:43" for example.

The idea is great, but it doesn't work smoothly. The only way it works on the X1, change " ring after 10 minutes" in ring after 1 minute", in settings set that your display don't turn off within 90 seconds. But this is not the way it is designed for, because when you do it this way, your mother-in-law starts wondering why your phone is counting down :lol: :lol:

When this is fixed, I def will try it again.

Cheers,
Arnold
