Comment: Registry is a place for all programs as well as the operating system itself to store their settings and other system based values such as installation path, last used folder, etc. Though some tricks can be performed by modifying registry values, changing them without enough knowledge makes the system unstable and in some cases stops it from responding.
Simple RegEdit is another well-designed registry editor, which represents the same interface as standard Windows registry editor. Two panes are provided, one for registry keys and the other for values of the selected key. The registry keys are shown in a tree-view list and values have a small icon depending to their type. Values are automatically sorted by their name but there's no option to change the sort order.
Search and find next occurrence functions are provided but there's no "find previous" command. Searching through registry is fast and accurate. An interesting function that is added is the ability to search through value types as well. It means that you can search for a specific term just in a certain value type such as string, DWord or binary.
Adding a key or value, renaming it or changing its value as well as copy/paste are provided. There is also a menu item to directly copy the key name. Simple RegEdit even supports importing and exporting registry keys to and from a file.
Simple RegEdit is hardware button compatible! In the other words, you can use this program without stylus. The left softkey is assigned to "Tab" button, which means you can change the active list and perform further operations just by pressing this button. The right softkey brings up the main menu with all the available commands. Though it supports both the portrait and landscape screen orientations, the lists are resized and their practically useless in landscape mode.
It requires 185KB of storage memory and runs smoothly from the storage card.
