Summary

Spb AirSetup is a tool for creating Pocket PC installers to be run directly on Pocket PC (for Over-the-Air downloading). It's a command line tool whereby you provide a CAB file, a EULA, a readme and other parameters for it to generate a compressed, self-contained, self-extracting installer (Pocket PC executable).

With the advent of Pocket PC Phone Edition, Over-the-Air program downloading and installing is becoming a more and more common potential in the Pocket PC world. Using this potential the installation is performed on a Pocket PC without any support from a desktop PC. The only way to install applications directly on Pocket PC is using CAB files. However CAB files do have some serious limitations. They do not use compression, which is crucial for decreasing the size of Over-the-Air downloads. Neither do they provide an option to ask a user to accept the end-user license agreement, which may cause some serious legality problems.

Spb AirSetup solves all these problems and also offers some neater features.

Compression
HTML Readme
End-user license agreement
Installation to custom folder
Installation to Pocket PC without desktop PC (Over-the-air)
Compression

Installer program size is critically important for people who pay for GPRS traffic to download software. Spb AirSetup uses one of the best compression algorithms. Here is a table of file sizes for CABs and their corresponding installers as created by Spb AirSetup (real commercial CAB files are used):

Cracked exe, equiv to retail
2 cracks, test which one works if you wish to make a SH3 and MIPS setup, since I dont know which order the resources should've gone in (see how 2 for description).

How2

Pc version
.text:00401A31 push offset aAirsetupVersio ; "\nAirSetup version 1.1, January 2006\nCop"...
.text:00401A36 push offset unk_422AB8
.text:00401A3B call sub_403940 -> nop - no tag in the cmd line
.text:00401A40 mov esi, [ebp+arg_0]

ARM Stub
0001119C MOV R2, #0
.text:000111A0 MOV R1, #0x40
.text:000111A4 BL _AfxMessageBox__YAHPBGII_Z ; AfxMessageBox(ushort const *,uint,uint) -> nop - no reminder in the arm stub.
.text:000111A8 LDR R1, =aParams_0

Now.... well now we're allegedly screwed. Cos the app doesnt have a SH3 stub and a MIPS.

Examine the arm stub.

What do you see?
The stub is just an exe with stripped resources, all but Icon Dialog String tbl, Icon Gr and ver resources.

Get PalbumPV_sh3_airsetup.exe and PalbumPV_mips_airsetup.exe from the site. We gon use em as stubs.

Strip them down to as above.

Pack them into the the pc exe as the other 2 resource under the EXE supertab. Now, there is no indication in what order the resources should go, and I doubt it auto-detects, so I uploaded 2 cracked exes. Both work for arm, but you'll have to test which one works for SH3 and MIPS.
AMS = Arm mips sh3. ASM = arm sh3 misp. So yea. :)
