Comment: Tweaking refers to fine-tuning or adjusting a complex system. Tweaks are any small modifications intended to improve a system. There can be two ways of accomplishing this: manually or using another piece of software specialized for that purpose.
SKKV Software, developer of SKSchema, the popular multi-functional scheduling tool, has published another great software. SKTools is definitely one of the most convenient system cleaning/tweaking tools for PocketPC. Number of available options and diversity of features make it a must-have multi-purpose system enhancement program for almost all users.
SKTools contains a large number of different tools such as memory and registry cleaner, registry editor, system tweaks, backup, maintaining and tune-up tools and CAB manager. Though it sounds complicated, a well-categorized user interface allows us to find the appropriate tool. Each tool has its own options, but regarding the precise programming, there's usually no need to change default settings.
In other words, SKTools is the most complete swiss army knife for PocketPC. It's an all-in-one maintenance tool for Windows Mobile. It features all needs to keep our devices alive and improves speed and memory. SKTools includes just about every PocketPC tweak and utility package you could ever want, in one tightly integrated package. There are tools for cleaning, backup, storage card maintenance, databases, today plugins, input methods, uninstall, startup, and some miscellaneous utilities.
Another great software in this category which is nearly similar to SKTools is MemMaid. MemMaid is also a powerful cleaning/maintenance software but it fails to its competitor, SKTools, when other features such as system tweaks come to decision making.
It requires 770KB of storage memory and runs perfectly from the storage card.

Thanks!
For whatever reason the fonts and positioning are messed up (yes, I got the right version) with this new version on my Axim X51V WM6 Football Edition.
I can't even do a backup because windows are messed up... odd, earlier version didn't do it.
I completely uninstaller previous version, removed folders and registry entries associated with it, and then did a soft reset and installed this new version, but it still does the same. Its also a bit stuttery when I go into PROGRAMS, SkTools icons load last and take a while...

Advanced Release Tester's Review
SKTools v4.1.22
Tested/Working on: PPC 2003+SE, WM5, WM6
Not tested on: PPC 2002
Rating: Originality: 9/10 - Quality: 10/10 - Performance vs similar products: 10/10 -- Average: 10/10
Review: SKTools is an award-winning system tweaking tool developed by SKKV Software. It allows you to keep the memory clean, optimize your device to improve the speed and backup essential files.
• Interface (10/10): A well-designed interface is very important for such complicated software. Fifty tools are organized in ten categories and a special category is also presented in which you can add your favorite tools for further use. Each tool is represented with a large icon and a brief description. It supports both portrait and landscape modes.
• Simplicity (10/10): One of the main weaknesses of system utilities is their complexity. A large number of tools and options with appalling phrases is what a user sees once these programs are executed. But SKTools uses a simple interface and though there are too many settings, you don't need to change them in order to use this software. Just choose a tool and follow the instructions. However, it doesn't mean that you can perform an action without understanding what you're doing. A comprehensive help file is provided which illustrates all commands, options and eventual consequences.
• Flexibility (9/10): About 100 options in more than 30 categories emphasizes on SKTools flexibility. Customizing user interface, defining schedule for each tool, file filters, default actions settings, etc. are just some of the provided options. As already discussed, because of precise programming, there's usually no need to change these settings. An option is also provided which lets you create a shortcut to one of the available tools. The created shortcut will be added to the start menu automatically.
• Cleanup (9/10): Removing temporary files, browser history, cookies, empty folders, invalid registry keys and values, duplicated shortcuts, etc. keeps the memory clean as well as improving speed. In several tests on different devices with all cleanup settings enabled, SKTools failed to its competitor. Cleanup tools of MemMaid were faster and somehow better. Nevertheless, SKTools contains more options and cleans more databases and user records. It also contains a registry optimizer which compresses the registry database. As a conclusion, cleanup tools of SKTools are more comprehensive and more accurate than MemMaid.
• Tweaks (10/10): Sometimes, a few changes in system configurations will improve performance and speed of a device significantly. There are always several settings which cannot be configured using standard PocketPC interface. Almost all tweaks are small changes in system registry, but since modifying certain values may make your device unstable, using a third-party tool allows you to change and even restore them with no drawback. Changing appearance, system colors, fonts, PIE, ActiveSync and Pocket Outlook settings are some of these modifications.
Conclusion: SKTools as the best tool in this category is highly recommended for all PocketPC users whether they have enough experience or not. Even if you're not familiar with some of these concepts such as registry, system services, processes, notification queue, etc. SKTools is for you!
Final Rating: 10/10

The Sk Tools icons sometimes become fragmented (like insufficient resolution), sometimes are exchanged by a default white icon with a blue line at the top. Soft reset sometimes helps, mostly though the problem remains. Anyone else encountered such a problem? Other than this it seems to work fine. I have Tytn II, WM6.
