Resco Backup - weak concept - will never succeed

Why? Instead of a unique image file (like Spb Backup & Clone or Sprite Backup), a mess of tiny zip files =

- bigger chance for corrupted files
- bigger chances for viruses
- harder to manipulate

IMHO it will never succeed to challenge main rivals Spb and Sprite.

A dead product before its birth due to a failed design concept.

"But Resco has incremental backup, while Spb and Sprite haven't "

INHO incremental backup is just a fancy thing for advertising, in practice useless.
Why?
We have incremental backup in Windows PC from Acronis - well known, the father of incremental backup for pc, launced for more than 3 years ago. Even today after 3 years, many have problems with these incremental backups - read the software is still buggy, and totally unreliable.
If you intend incremental backups for files and folders only it's ok, but for whole system (including registry and new installed programs, in this case you are in trouble.

I see, the wm resco sucks: maybe i'm still too much tidied to what did work a charm on Palm, from where i come... And so i'm trying again Sprite, hoping, in case of disaster, to be able to restore everything. Of course Resco can't, i've seen verifying the backup: no *_manila file in \windows, for example. And who knows what else is missing?

About the incremental backup, maybe i'm still too much on Palm, where the process was ok: a modified file was put in the backup, an unmodified one excluded. But i see WM is another world

Just thought I would report my results with Resco Backup v2.01.4.

This is the only backup utility that succeeded to restore my
Dell Axim X51v with the Lenny's Windows Mobile 6.1 L11 ROM.

SPB backup always required that I run the restore TWICE to complete,
(it would hang every first attempt)! (EDIT: I meant 'restore twice').

And Sprite backup failed to restore.

! I don't know if there is anything unusual about my system, only that
! Resco Backup was able to restore on the first attempt.

I am not associated with Resco in any way. Also, I am not a 'fan-boy' for Resco.
I am just very relieved that I finally found a backup utility that worked 'out of the box'
and thought others would like to know about my experience.

Same here, on my Asus P750, Sprite failed to restore for some reason, while Resco works, but with a catch, so to speak. On the first restore operation, it restores everything except HKLM and HKCU, reporting that there's "not enough space". I then need to do another, selective restore operation, restoring only those two registry parts, after which the system functions normally...
By the way, those were Sprite Backup v6.5.2 and Resco Backup v1.30, I haven't yet tried the latest version of Resco, and quite frankly, I doubt I will, because, if it ain't broke, don't fix it :)
