Omnia2/i8000 HTC-GSensor-Emulator (Date: 13.10.2009) (freeware)
Requirements: Samsung Omnia 2
Overview: Needed if you want to run applications written to use the htc g-sensor.
Image

htc-developers are very active, developing this and that for htc phones...so far apps using a g-sensor would not run on i8000/Omina2. With this cab they'll work. Just one example: hdWobble viewtopic.php?f=51&t=81061
The image is ugly because it's resized from 800x480 to 400x240. The TiltX and TiltY don't display anything. You will see this image only if you have the original Windows Settings menu enabled, there's no need to calibrate.
All credits go to:
* GinKage/i8000.MoDaCo.com for HTCSensorSDK.dll (i8000/Omnia2)
* wizard/samsung-omnia.org and shokka9/samsung-omnia.org for HTCAPI.dll and HTCEmuPanel.cpl by speleomaniac (i900/i910)
* cyber-junkie for adding all files to a zip
* /me for making a cab

It's released without licensing information, so from a strictly legal point of view it's not, and it violates the HTC trademark by using it's brand name. From a more practical point of view it might be ok to give it away for free and spread it.

If anyone has the skills and time I'll buy them a pint if they write a version of this for the Toshiba TG01.

Cheers.

You don't have to do anything after installation.

You could install and run programs written for the HTC, using the HTC g-sensor API. Examples:
Gyrator: viewtopic.php?f=49&t=69344 - an alternative app to auto-rotate the screen. I use it, because it's configurable (disable/set screen rotation for certain applications)
hdWobble: viewtopic.php?f=51&t=81061 - an app written by a girl making her boobs wobble, but can be used for man as well, making your beer belly wobble :wink:
There are quite a few programs, mostly from htc-developers, using the HTC g-sensor API. If you don't install such software you don't need the emulation API.

When I try to calibrate this nothing happens, it says readings should be between -3 and +3, but I get no readings, is that normal.

It's normal: The TiltX and TiltY don't display anything. You will see this image only if you have the original Windows Settings menu enabled, there's no need to calibrate.

Soft reset (power off, power on) might help.
If not, what app doesn't work?
Does either gyrator or hdwobble work?
