WVGAFIX4 24.01.2010 (freeware)
Requirements: Windows Mobile 5/6.x
Overview: WVGAFIX3 allows you to change the screen resolution.

WVGAFIX3 allows you to change the screen resolution. It is designed mostly for devices with wide screens - 800x480 or 400x240 (Toshiba G900, SE Xperia X1, HTC Touch HD, HTC MAX 4G). So if a game or program doesn't work in wide mode you can try it in normal VGA/QVGA mode and it will probably work.

Installation:
*Copy CAB files to device
*Install cab file
*Do soft reset
*Now you can see WVGAFIX4 in Programs.

Here are some key features of "WVGAFIX4":
· WVGA VGA SQVGA switch support
· WQVGA QVGA SQQVGA switch support
· You have black unused screen area on screen - no stretching performed.

Limitations:

· You shouldn't rotate screen if not-original video mode applied.
· If you want use WVGAFIX4 in landscape mode, you should rotate screen in the right side, otherwise you will have touchscreen decalibration. You should determine "good" side by experimental way.

I haven't looked at this app in detail. But at a glance does it change the resolution of the screen? Can I run Wvga apps on a Vga screen?

Its original purpose was to allow the apps made for QVGA/VGA to run on 480x800 resolution. That is, it blacks out the part of the screen until it leaves a QVGA space (or for that matter a square space).

It does that very well.

Now, I haven't been able to find out anything about v4 in comparison to v3... anyone? :)
