I have made up a QVGA data folder for the same release. This includes the full LISTS folder. I have also included, but not in use, a UKLISTS folder. This may be of interest to UK residents as it includes under the GROUPS tab both UK Sea Birds and Sea Birds, UK Birds of Prey and Birds of Prey, as well as all the other groups. To use this the LISTS folder needs to be renamed say ALISTS allowing the UKLISTS to be renamed LISTS.
If anyone wishes a similar LISTS for their country and is unable to use the programme posted here I'd be happy to do so if you send me a pm, letting me know the country and whether you want the habitats (Urban, Woodland etc.) to be for all birds or country specific. The LISTS directory is the same for the VGA and QVGA editions. I can't guarantee to do it right away, or do any translation, but if I'm sent the translated INDEX1.txt and the HABITATS and GROUP files in UTF-8 format....

The QVGA folder can be found at http://www.filefactory.com/file/b0a6cfc/n/QVGA_PBEdata.rar
and at
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5161040/QVGA%20PBEdata.rar
Note the size of 110MB.

Hi squawksarah

I have little problem with QVGA version. Search doesn't work. Look on the picture. After pressing Search have blank page with no name.

The search feature is a simple one designed originally for single words, in English. It doesn't work so well in Latin. Try typing Corvus. You will see all birds with that latin prime name. Select the correct bird from the display.

QVGA Program 3.6.4 but filefactory link is vga 3.4.1.

Yes, I am sorry for the typo. I am making so many changes (for requests and so on) these days that I am starting to get rather confused as to what I am doing.

FWIW: the QVGA birds CAB for v4.1 is coming soon. I have to convert the VGA version down to QVGA so that no extra errors are introduced by simply trying to update the previous QVGA code to the new code. Jeez we all know how frustrating that last HTC gps code problem was! That was caused by updating former version code.

What would suite me would be to have one single cab but we have a whole range of devices these days and it can get overwhelming to make a simple change in code because then I have to produce a whole number of different cabs to support it. Some releasers decide to only produce CABs for, say VGA and for a specific WM o/s. And maybe also for standard gps hardware and not HTC gps devices. I'd prefer to cover as many possibilities as I can. It can be very annoying when you'd like to use some software but the author doesn't support your set up, can't it?

squawksarah: thank you much :-) You are realy quick (like flash)

Searching is working now!

With this fix (version) is little bug. Second picture (flying, form of wings, ...) doesn't show. It is white without any picture.

Skurakai,
the second picture allows to be "panned" across the screen. Normally the image is shown in the bottom right corner, so you see nothing. Point with your stylus (or finger) to the low right corner and move it to the top left: you will see the image appearing...

Hi Sarah,

Thanks for the new release and thanks to everyone who worked on the new data set, it's looking good! :D

Just one thing I noticed when browsing the new birds last night though, I was looking at 752-Wild Turkey but when I pressed the down arrow to look at the the other images etc it showed the plate for 753-Barbary Dove. The same thing happened on 751-Reeve's Pheasant, 750-Daurian Partridge and 749-Northern Bobwhite, they all showed the Barbary Dove plate. If I scrolled thorugh the same birds the other way starting from 748-California Quail they all showed the plate for California Quail.

I hope I managed to explain what I mean ok, let me know if you need anything clarified.
