WPS v3.0.0 (freeware)
Requirements: wm 6.1 pro(havent checked with anything else)
Overview: Dont have GPS on your wm 6.1 pro device no problem, WPS is here to fill in the gap and answer the burning question of where in the h#*% am I? This turns on your wifi and attempts to use wifi access points as gps satellites to use with the my location feature of GMM. It works.... not as accurate as I would like, but what do you expect for free?


go into the wps port settings tab and see where the wps port is set to (mine was also go to services and make sure that the app is active
then go to google maps gps settings and change your my location settings to manual
set the com port to your wps port-ok
tell google maps to use gps in the menu tab
DO NOT connect to any hot spots just let it continue searching
it is ok to dismiss the new hotspot connection
this will enable and disable your wifi when you enter/exit google maps

must have the latest version of google maps installed * It is also known that any previous attempt to install the valhalla gps fix will not allow this app to work

Thanks but how do you use it exactly.

After installing and going to WPS settings the first page is Auth and wants a username / domain. Is there anything to fill in here ?

Any other setting settings need to be made ?

In Google Maps - set gps to manual, port 8, 4800
then check Use Gps.

I still dont get it. What exactly does it provide that google map already doesn't?

I'm thinking this adds more accuracy?

But this only works if Skyhook has previously mapped the WiFi hotspots and/or cell towers in your city. I dont think they have covered i.e. Europe yet. If you have a GPS you dont need this!
