Overview: Astronomy software for amateurs and professionals.



Features: Has many features and tools, including: wireless telescope control; up to 20th magnitude star maps (Hipparcus, GSC); astroids/comets; calculators; ephemrides; tours and much more... Despite being a little old (last update 2006) this app is better than others, with the the exception of Astromist - hopefully someone will crack this soon (see here: http://forum.ppcwarez.org/viewtopic.php?f=65&t=64317)

Is it better than vito astronavigator?

I use Vito Astronavigator for a quick look at the sky - great interface, quick and easy to use. Tachyon is more professional, with lots more information and tools, and larger object databases - you can use the Hubble Telescope GSC (Global Sky Guide) which contains millions of objects up to 20th magnitude. I think they should put gps capability into these software
So When You open the program It can know where you stand and what you can see at a specific time abd location
That would be great
