This is going to be a really stupid question but I am kinda new to all this. It looks to me like I would need to translate al the names from Spanish to English manually (from looking at themanual). Is this so or is there an automated way I can do it?
Thanks

Many thanks. That works for one of the menus but the other menus and related species lists are still in Spanish. I can probably work it out though and use your file as a basis for the replacement of the other indices and just adjust the menus manually.
Cheers

Hello everybody,
I've just completed a review of my subset of Pocket birds.
I have selected 507 birds which are a bit more than originally released and a bit less than the full 760 Collins list.
This should include species that could be seen in Europe/mediterranean area.
Have reworked the songs (cleaned and elarged to a reasonable duration) reworked some image and adapted to my WVGA ppc.
Built new lists using all the opportunities that Sarah gave us with the last versions.
Lists use Italian names so -where possible - menus.
Result is a quite heavy set of data (140 MB or so) you can download from here:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4106751/PBEdata.rar
Some song is still missing, errors possible: I will correct if notified through PM.
Even if lists use Italian names, images and songs can be used indipendently from language: of course for a VGA environment.
A big thanks to Sarah who made possible all this.

Hi Sarah,
if some adjustment/help is needed , please let me know.
Do not know if you saw my post 67 in pocket fungi, will copy here because my request is useful for PB too.
******
Sarah,
like Soren I made few programs on punched cards in late 69... but my familiarity with programming stops there...
Spent two days trying to convert your GPSlist file into some Gpx to be used with Google maps but I'm giving up.
For you, GREAT MASTER IN PROGRAMMING , will it be complicated to output the data in such format???
Have downloaded several free GPS programs which output is compatible with Google.
What we need is: Lat. Long. and a description with date and name of the species (guess that local is preferable and also a prefix/suffix libe PB orPF to understand the type of record).
***
Another nice feature here (should you put hand into the program) will be RECEND sound like in fungi toghether with "slowing down" the processor.
ID number and sound for last record are very very useful in lists maintenence.
TIA
Amedeo

The google maps POI thing is possible. I am not smart enough to do it but fortunately someone else has already written the library for this feature!
I intend to modify all the programs have the same gps code as the Fungi program.

what about the Desktop PC version?
Very useful for people not using a PPC and also useful for fast maintenance for us.
Wellcome also for Pocke Fungi!
TIA

Thanks Sarah,
The problem of skipping records happens also on the DesktopPC version (anyway by far less serious than in my PPC): may be a generalized circunvention could be advisable.
Tks a lot

Hallo Sarah,
really very nice work.
I installed PBE 3.6.0 on my HTC touch pro 2 and everything looks good, except for the navigation buttons on the bottom. They are not really on the bottom, but about 1/3 off the bottom. I know that my device has a wvga resolution (800x480) and my version of PBE is VGA. Any chance to get the buttons to the proper position ?
PS
In my PBE 3.6.0 it seems also that the two left buttons on the bottom, are not properly aligned with the others. Is it my impression or what ?
Many thanks
Gianluigi
