ZoomIn wrote:Another great release. Congratulations. You are able to release apps quicker than I can think of them. If you wish to use texts instead of the images I have done a sample dozen, such as:
"Swallowtail
Papilio machaon
80-90mm. Inhabits open country and waysides up to higher altitudes. In Britain (ssp britahnicus) found only in Norfolk Broads where it is scarce and protected. Several subspecies distributed throughout Europe. Common, especially central and southern Europe. Two broods are usual, "etc.
If you wish me to complete them all, should only take a day or so, and I could do the other releases.
I do realise it adds work for you, but you seem keen enough.

Could you really do all of them??

That would be amazingly great :D :D

I have tried to convert the text images to text files with optical character recognition software but I can't seem to make it work well (I am getting only about 50 percent of the words right with it).

I was considering typing them all out (I was trained as a copy typist a long time ago) but it would take an age to do it that way.

I would be more than happy to change the software to accept text files if I could get the program info in text. And that way others could change the text to their own languages if they wished.

Hi Sarah,
Easier than I thought.
Uploaded to http://rapidshare.com/files/291507918/text.rar
Some anomolies, easily corrected in the actual issue, are also attached as text to the file.
Any interest in me adding photos of the butterflies after I've done the fungi, flowers, herbs (later today if I don't get the call to do something else), or is that going too far, as it works quite well already?
If you think I might be a helpful slave, please pm me, and I can set up an ftp for transfers for proof reading/testing if that is of interest.

Alex :) :)

The text conversion is excellent

I can go through and correct numbering and proof reading. It was the OCR I could not get to work. ;) And you have done it brilliantly. Thankyou.

I will PM you to talk more.

Pocket Butterflies 2.0 Here...

http://forum.ppcwarez.org/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=84285&p=462535#p462535

This is the full download for the program with text files for the info pages.

This version can be translated into other languages (don't forget to save your new text files as UNICODE-8 format which can be done with Windows Notepad program.)

All thanks go to ZOOMIN for his work converting the many description images to simple text files. :) :) :)

Thanks Alex!

Trees coming next!

Hello,

I am a bit new on PDA and its software. Tried to install pocketbirds which seemed to go okay but after installation and tapping on the pocketbird icon it came up with an error code. "cannot find Pocket birds or one of its components"Any idea how to solve this issue. Installation on the pc went fine.

regars,

Albert :(

@a516823
It might be better to use the revised copy of the programme whauch Sarah has released at
http://forum.ppcwarez.org/viewtopic.php?f=51&t=84285
There is a text file in the release explaining that a folder needs to be downloaded to the storage card as well as copying and running the cab.
Hope this helps

Or... you might try finding the pocketbirds.exe executable in the install folder and tap it to run it directly.
