I understand your frustration with all the thoughts and prayers...I am likewise frustrated by their, and my own, futility in this matter. I have written to my representatives and encouraged others in my area to do the same (thank you kindly for the template). Though much of what my family's business and others in our area (and all over the world) are doing is merely symbolic, I am hopeful that omnipresent, provocative, and in-your-face symbolism and symbolic actions will translate into the interest, attention, and urgency this travesty calls for. As your constituent, [and as someone who has [donated and] supported your campaign], I know you have acted and will continue to act as my voice in our Parliament. Given the gravity of the situation, and the deep concerns I have, I feel it is my moral obligation to write to you.

The Russian atrocities in Ukraine appear to be just the beginning, and I am outraged that more is not being done to aid a nation fighting for their lives and freedom. We talk the talk about how Canada stands against injustice and with its allies, but sanctions alone will not stop the tyrant now that he’s committed to conquest.

Years ago the United States, the United Kingdom and Russian signed the Budapest Memorandum with Ukraine for them to de-nuclearize, and in return they would be protected. Canada condemned Russia after the annexation of Crimea in 2014 and stated that Russian involvement was a breach of its Budapest Memorandum obligations to Ukraine which had been transmitted to the United Nations under the signature of Sergey Lavrov and others. I do not want Canadian troops in Ukraine, but as a NATO nation and a compassionate and democratic country we can and should do more.

What I am hearing right now is that they need more air support. Russian rockets are causing mass destruction and that the situation is becoming dire. The Ukrainians have lost air superiority and need missile defense capabilities. We are in a position to help with this.

I call on you __________, as my voice in our Parliament, to help uphold the commitments that the United States, the United Kingdom and Russia made in the December 5th, 1994 Budapest Memorandum, where the United States welcomed the accession of Ukraine to the ‘Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons’ as a non-nuclear-weapon State. Our Ukrainian friends are looking to us for help and we must support them in this fight.

Russia has now violated Article 1 of the memorandum a second time since the annexation of Crimea and the occupation of Donbas in 2014 and it is time to act. It's time to provide Ukraine with more defensive weapons, and help close the sky over Ukraine to effectively stand up to the Putin regime once and for all.

But most importantly, I believe it is also a time for Canada to deliver a plan for helping Ukrainian refugees. According to the UN refugee agency, more than 50,000 Ukrainians have fled the country in the first 48 hours. It has been just several days of Putin’s bloody war. There will be much more. UNICEF projects from one to five million refugees to European countries. I ask you to appeal to the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada department to expedite a visa process for Ukrainians wishing to come to Canada. I also ask you to propose the sending of planes to Poland, Hungary, Romania, and Slovakia to evacuate refugees that Canada, a country of immigrants, would be ready to accept. It is the least that we can do.

I signed as well as sending the letter to as many Congress men/women as I could. I have also been spreading the letter around on my personal fb page and will post the links that Governor3 has supplied as well. I have many retired US Military that I'm friends with who are currently looking for ways to help physically. Some are even looking to volunteer for service especially after your president gave them ways to volunteer to help fight. I wish I could do more but honestly I simply can't but please know that Ukraine and it's people have more support than I think you realize. I know thoughts and prayers don't seem like much and it gets frustrating but at this time it's all that some can offer. Getting these letters to the people in charge hopefully makes a difference and a peaceful resolution can be found soon. I have read that some websites are actually blocking Russia in an effort to send a message and I know that probably doesn't seem like much with everything you and your family and others are going through but everyone is trying in their own way to support all of you.

I am sad when two brothers (or two neighbors) keep killing. I prey for as soon as possible peace, cause I spent 88 days under airplanes, bombs and homing missiles, also 21% of territory is under occupation for 23 long years.

Until now, I was unaware of Mobilism's ties to the Ukraine. I utilize this site regularly, and now my disgust with the situation has been intensified.
I live in the US and my Congressman (Dan Newhouse R-WA) is an advocate. Newhouse issued a press statement on 24February 2022 that stated:
“Russia's warmongering over the past few weeks has unsurprisingly culminated in acts of war against Ukraine. This is in direct conflict with international agreements and must be met with severe and punishing sanctions. Vladimir Putin and his regime have continued to prove they are little more than criminal thugs, and the international community must reject their delusional and alarming attempts at creating a new world order and work together to prevent any further loss of life in Ukraine.
I call on our NATO and UN allies to act as swiftly as possible to sever all ties with Putin's murderous regime. The free world depends on it.”
Never the less, I used your form letter, with some modification, in an e-mail to my Congressaman. 'Governor3' has provided great information on "ways to help". I included that information in my message, and asked my Congressman to post it on his website, because people are always asking either "What can I do?", or "How can I Help."
