Disclaimer
This is not an OS. It is a skinsuite, based on Microsoft's upcoming Windows OS, Microsoft? Windows? Vista?.

Windows Vista is a trademark of Microsoft Corporation and I have no deal with them, nor do i have Microsoft's official permission to release this skin, but hope they will see this as a tribute to their great new Windows design.

Features

Wisbar Advanced 2
The Wisbar Advanced skin included in this skinsuite is a very complete skin with all elements skinned that WBA2 can currently skin.
It's also one of the first skins with a Custom Notification System.
That means you'll see an icon appear in the taskbar that represents the actual event/system notification (examples below).
Image
From left to right: New Network, Normal Notification, Sync Error, Mail Message Sent, New Mail Message

This WBA2 skin consists of a main theme with three substyles:

  • AERO
  • AERO (Dark Edition)
  • AERO Express

Image
From left to right: AERO (Dark Edition), AERO, AERO Express

There are three skins files, so three skins will appear in WBA2's skin selection dialog. The names of these skins are the same. In the skin's info under Notes, you can see which substyle you've chosen.

The skin also has a sound theme based on un-official Windows Vista sounds. They are quite nice and fit well with the Windows Vista design (so select WVPE as your skin, shutdown WBA2 and restart. Don't forget to crank up your device's volume.

Last but not least, this skin supports Phone Edition devices. It comes with icons for signal strength icons, incall icons and a dedicated volume bubble (AERO Express style). Plus, there are icons in the custom notifications skin for Missed Calls, Incoming Calls, Calls on Hold, etc.

PocketBreeze

PocketBreeze comes with some custom icons, and has a skin for PocketRSS and ContactBreeze inside.

Windows Media Player

Windows Media Player skin based on Microsoft's next Media Player (WMP 11).
It supports Portrait and Landscape orientations and comes with support for video and album art.

GSPlayer 2
Also in WMP 11 style, a GSPlayer 2 skin.

Little slow responds from my PDA causes the 'Capture It' dialog to still show in screenshots...

Resco Keyboard
This skinsuite includes a full Resco Keyboard skin.

A copy of this skin is included in the main skin pack.

Wisbar Advanced Desktop

The biggest part of this skinsuite is the WAD skin. This skin includes a big icon library, a collection of Windows Gadgets, Windows (docks), Sidebar, Analog clocks and interface images (startmenu, etc).
It's enough (maybe even more then enough) to give your PDA a Vista look.
And i want to see some custom made WAD desktops!

Extras
Every skin has some extras. This skin is no exception. It comes with skins for the following applications

  • X50Mix
  • Pocket Secure
  • psShutXP
  • Three SBSH Clock skins
  • 2 Wallpaper packs (total of 40 Wallpapers)

Actually, there is a QVGA version already released. Maybe you could edit your post Bartman to include this version too?

You don't need Wisbar, but if you don't use it the top and bottom bars will look different. Obviously if you don't have an app that has a skin in this suite, it won't be skinned.

Hi, I've been trying to download all the files listed but somehow, the sbsh.net server manages to disconnect its server connection to me whenever the file is roughly 75 percent downloaded. Since this lame server does not support resuming mode I'll have to go to the same cycle again (downloading it from the beginning and keep getting disconnected).
Soooooooo, could you please post these vista portable final files to another server? Say 4shared.com?

Thanks

Qvga links don't work because they contain DOTS

I mixed up with the previous links, and they did work, but please edit the first post accordingly
Thanks

P.S.: everything is freeware from SBSH, without any kind of registration.

Thanks again

EDIT: Updated QVGA links in first post. Thx Val3r10.

Yes of course. This is not an application, it is a package of graphical elements that other applications can use to change the way they look. See the list in the first post for which applications are skinned.

You need to have Wisbar Adv 2 installed, viewtopic.php?t=868

Then copy the Windows Vista - WA2 dir to \Program Files\Lakeridge\WisBar Advance\Themes. Open Windows Adv. 2 Settings to select the new skin.
There is a readme file in the zip file for other apps.

For some reason it's too big on my start-bar .....
