Overview: Published in 1971, this pictorial Sex encyclopedia is pre-internet, pre-AIDs, so is a product of its time, and should not be relied upon for accurate or up-to-date information. The language tends towards being sexist, and was aimed at the US market, with its intrinsicly 'Victorian' attitude to matters sexual, much more narrow-minded that the European attitudes of the time. It is worthwhile for its black-and-white photography by William McBride. Some of photographs are 2-page spreads, and the scanning process has not done these particular photos justice.
