Looks sad to answer my own post but it seems both speed camera database are from PGPS except last year they were called the 4.xxx and this year they are called 5.xxx.

I actually tried both. map accuracy very similar but embedded roadspeed data in 1256 is minimal i.e. only has motorways.

TomTOm keeps trying to re-install - my 6.03 will often try and reinstall rather than start up normally

Anyone know why ?

Perhaps I can delete some of the storage card files now that it has been installed ??

Worked for Asus. Thanks a lot Ifalleni :D :D

Can anyone give me a pointer to which files in the SD card can be deleted after installing TomTom 6.03? I am desperate to get some free memory in the card.

Hello everybody

Regarding 6.200 and 6.201 versions (and I suppose also 6.100), I read in gsmhosting.com forum that these releases are pna versions, not pda.
Peronnally I tried both of them and I found that GPS positionning is less accurate that v. 6.02, for exemple the map often spins around it self when the car is stopped.
I have an Ipaq hx2490b with GlobalSat CF Card GPS SirfIII chipset.

The only advantage (not minor!) is that these releases can use old TomTom map for exemple Eastern Europe 6.08 (is it a TomTom v5 map?). I personnally checked it.

What I read on the net is that 660.1223 maps were relaeased by TomTom to be used also with Navigator v.5. So, some features have been disabled as TomTom Navigator v5 has less functions than Navigator v.6
The speed limit indications is one of these differencies.
So, the best maps for TT6 seem to be 660.1219.

660.1256 is another story. This is a Navteq data based map. 660.1223 and 660.1219 are Teleatlas.
Which is the "best"? The opinions are not unanimous. Some people consider Navteq better than Teleatlas.
The advantage of 660.1256 is that all Western Europe is on one map. But it is in same time its disadvantage - it takes near 1Gb.

I want to update from version 6.010 (7720)
Map version Great Britain V650.1111

Can someone tell me EXACTLY what I need to do ?

...

Overwrite the .exe and data.chk with the cracked 6.030 ones.
Then use a rev6 compatible map (v650 isn't). e.g. UK & IE v660.1223
Personally in UK I prefer Western_Europe_V660.1256.

just to avoid some misunderstanding : v650.1111 map is compatible with TT Navigator v6 including v6.03. Tested with v650.1111 map of France.

Hi all,

I seem to have a redundant problem with my P350 loosing the "BASE" POI after a while. Also I can't seem to be able to "point and click" a new radar position on the map. I use TT6 V6.030.8320 and map Europe 1256

Any ideas welcome

Cheers

Hi all
I have 2 PPC, Ipaq 2490b with WM5 and TT6.01, works well but is a little slow from cold start and to find the bluetooth receiver. The second PPC is an IPAQ 2110 with WM5. This has been updated with TT6.03 so I could do a comparison. The 2110 with less memory available is actually quicker to load TT6.03 and the bluetooth receiver is found much quicker. In all respects it seems quicker. I installed the application on the SD card so I am not sure if this makes any difference.
Now all I need is to be able to use my celebrity voices, they are in my map folder but I cant find them in TT 6.03.
Any help there would be appreciated.
Next step is to update my 2490b.

Dunno if this is of help to anyone, but I've just removed v6.03 and gone back to 6.02. The reason was the voices didn't play fully when previewed them. I attempted to show someone at work Sexy Selina and Naughty Natalie, the voices would start to play then suddenly stop. They work fine in v6.02. Other than that v6.03 worked ok. There are additional sounds in 6.03, so you may have to alter you POI's again to make sure they play the correct sound file you want for your speed camera's for example.

V6.03 had a nicer splash screen. Anyone know of a hack that allows custom splash screens on a PDA?

Hi,

Not sure if anyone else has this problem but.. i have installed and go running

TomTom NAVIGATOR v6.000 (7370)
GB_plus_major_roads_of_WE v650.1046
PocketGPSWorld.com Speed Camera Database Version 4.092 15 Sep 2006

However i dont have a GPS unit yet.. i just want to be able to use it without the GPS. Now the problem is that it works fine for a while.. then if i switch around in the menu's for a while or change maps it says it needs to recalibrate the gps unit and resets the whole PDA.

Driving me nuts.. any idea how to turn off the GPS unit or stop this from happening??

Cheers!
Stef.

I know this is for Pocket PC and it runs fine on mine, but is there a way so it is not upside down on my blackjack? I want this on there because I can not find TomTom 6 for smartphone! It starts up just fine (haven't tested maps yet, my MicroSD hasn't come) but it is flipped.

Can anyone else confirm if this release of TomTom with WM6 (Crossbow) freezes while in use- imagine the scenario, I've been driving along for some time and I notice the screen is saying I haven't progress ... it's frozen! I can tap the screen and click okay, but it doesn't stop the fact that TOM TOM is freezing on me intermittently and I could quite easily miss a turn or direction.

Anyone?
