I have noticed a strange thing today:
So far I've been using tomtom traffic without any subscription or whatever, I just used to hit tomtom traffic button and it downloaded all information needed, but today it asked me for username and pass. It's strange, what happened has tomtom changed policy or it's a software bug?
In the past it would ask me for account name and pass only for tomtom plus services, but not for traffic service.
Has anybody experienced the same thing?

For what I know, TomTom Traffic service it is free for one month. after that you have to register (and pay) at TomTom site for this service.

If you look at the 1256 thread, viewtopic.php?t=9832, there is a separate link on the first page for the modified mapinfo.dat, replace the existing file with this one.

I have 660.1256 Western Europe and following files are in the directory :

cline.dat
cname.dat
cnode.dat
faces.dat

Am i missing the mapinfo.dat ?

Looks like you are missing a few files. You should have:

cname.dat
faces.dat
poi.dat
cnode.dat
tmccodes.dat
traffic.dat
Western_Europe.mid
Western_Europe.mpr
Western_Europe.pna
cline.dat
mapinfo.dat
traffic.inc

I'll zip up the missing files and PM you.

All those V660.1223 maps work with this version.

Is there anyway I can manipulate/change the tomtom today logo to point to my installation of tt6 on my miniSD?

It only seems to work if tt6 is on my device.

EDIT:
Excuse my dumb question.... I just put the tt6today cab file into the navigator folder on my SD and installed it from there, the TT6 today now works fine.

I have installed the latest release and then the 1256 Western Europe maps. It works a treat but the full postcode and house numbers are not working. I have spent hours looking for a solution, is there one?

I am new to GPS as I have just got my Tmobile Ameo that I love.

Which country do you want full postcodes for? I can let you have latest UK.
