Hi all..
I just registered but have been following all the posts.
First of all welldone mates! great work, especially ifalleni. I installed ifalleni version in my Prophet and worked in a flash! with GB maps.

Somebody earlier requested bug reports. I am giving the errors which I noticed.

1) Known one first - There is no screen rotate function.

2) Important one, which could force people to uninstall tt6 - There is no way to turn off the screen while tt6 is running. You cannot turn off the power if the ppc nor using 3rd party software like screen toggle. This is very annoying since I used to turn off the display while driving on motorways to save battery. I am not sure if anyone else noticed this. Any fix? ifalleni? or anybody?

Could you tell me where to copy your custom chk to?
Thanks

Its the data.chk file found in the Navigator directory with TomTom Navigator.exe

It should be in the programs directory in main memory, unless you have moved it to Storage.

Data.chk, can still be edited with the software mentioned earlier to change the sounds. But TomTom Navigator.exe can not be edited yet to rename them.

Just Backup your old data.chk, then over write it with the download, then you can assign the new POI warnings in the usual way.

See the first post for a list of all currently available maps, yes there is a french one but not in the wild, you will need to buy it. Or download the entire western europe maps like I did. No idea what for, just wanted them.

The poi editor app doesnt support the V6 exe yet but you can still edit the data.chk file. Once it supports the EXE we can rename the sound file and add more than the current defaults.

Any one know when the actual app is officially released? Im guessing this one is an early or pre-release version.

TTNv6 install. Same as the master one on the first post but with the following chnages.

* You can now select where you want it installed. Old version always installs to device memory, if you select SD card the main application will now be installed on SD.

* Remove programs now just shows "TomTom Navigator 6".

All you then need are some maps and voices. The full package can be found on the first post.

Thank you for the fast answer but i still get problems, i install the program of your link (ttn6.cab) on my XDA with the memory cleaned, and the installation runs even to choose the location to install, i choose the SD card and runs and stop on the midle of the installation and i get again to choose the location, i choose the SD card again and get abort!!!
This is getting more dificult that i thought! Sorry for the bother and thank you for the time!

The lack of a screen rotate feature has caused me to stick with TomTom 5. I was actually considering buying a legit v6 licence as I use TomTom so much & think its one of the few apps worth paying for... glad i tested it first!

thanks ifalleni :D

point 1: if you have windows mobile 2003 second edition or higher

go to start -> settings -> system -> screen

change portrait to landscape (and tomtom 6 is also in landscape mode)

point 2: i dont have any problems with it, i think you changed youre settings in power

turn off device if not used for (standard 5 min), i think you turned that off

2. How2 Debranch the incompatible device msg.

0002DB10 BNE loc_2DB1C ->B

Then look at those for the serial check when you enter it.
00179AA8 BNE loc_179AB8

017D800 BGE loc_17D810

0017D848 BNE loc_17D804

00179CC8 BEQ loc_179CE0

00179CDC BNE loc_179D10

00179ACC BEQ loc_179AAC

Those should all be changed so it actually reaches all of the statements.

Finally change
000942E4 BEQ loc_9432C
to mov r0 r0 - this way we trick the loader to think we're regged.

sorry - i don't understand a word. Can somebody explain it to me ?

Thanks for the reply. First of all I am using WM5. My devise Orange M600 (AKA, Imate JAMin, HTC Prophet, XDA Neo, Dopop 818 Pro etc).

No, my device is set to turn off if not used in 1 minute. Even if that is not set, the device should turn off when I press power button, which is not happening while tt6 is running. It does with any other program including tt5. So, there you go... And I noticed few others also experienced the same problem in a different forum. Again I am stressing that I have installed the ifalleni cab version. May be I need to try a different version??
Thanks
