2) Important one, which could force people to uninstall tt6 - There is no way to turn off the screen while tt6 is running. You cannot turn off the power if the ppc nor using 3rd party software like screen toggle. This is very annoying since I used to turn off the display while driving on motorways to save battery. I am not sure if anyone else noticed this. Any fix? ifalleni? or anybody?

point 1: if you have windows mobile 2003 second edition or higher

go to start -> settings -> system -> screen

change portrait to landscape (and tomtom 6 is also in landscape mode)

point 2: i dont have any problems with it, i think you changed youre settings in power

turn off device if not used for (standard 5 min), i think you turned that off

Thanks for the reply. First of all I am using WM5. My devise Orange M600 (AKA, Imate JAMin, HTC Prophet, XDA Neo, Dopop 818 Pro etc).

No, my device is set to turn off if not used in 1 minute. Even if that is not set, the device should turn off when I press power button, which is not happening while tt6 is running. It does with any other program including tt5. So, there you go... And I noticed few others also experienced the same problem in a different forum. Again I am stressing that I have installed the ifalleni cab version. May be I need to try a different version??
Thanks

Hi

I also have SPV M600, I can confirm that when I am running TomTom 6, the phone does not respond to the red standby button. With any other application such as mediaplayer when you press the stanby button the phone sleeps, when you press it again the phone and application pickup where they left off ie, halfway through a song.

TomTom does not do this. On a couple of occasions I did get TomTom to sleep, but it was not instant, I had a white screen for a few seconds before the phone went into standby. TomTom awoke again when the standby button was pressed, but would not sleep again afterwards, no matter how hard or long the button was pressed.

I wonder where these 6.50 maps came from as the official release for TT6 is not until Mid-September-October. Are these the maps that will be officially released with TT6, or are they maps that were released with the PND that have the TT6 firmware updated I wonder?

Mercenary wrote:For those who havnt figured it out yet. You dont need to put all the folders in the root of the SD card. Infact, everything can sit under \Program Files\Navigator

So, ITN, RASTER, ZIP, your maps, SCHEMES, VOICES all under the main program. Although for some reason everytime you run the app a blank voices folder is created on the root of the SD card.

I can't get my maps recognised when I put them under \Program Files\Navigator. Any particular folder under Navigator?

For people wanting to have the program on the memory card, just copy \Program Files\Navigator to \Storage Card\Program Files\Navigator, then edit the Start Menu shortcut to point to \Storage Card\Program Files\Navigator\TomTom Navigator.exe - works a treat (although your cab doesn't seem to work, Merc)

Hmm, my cab was just the original one but I unticked the "Hard Coded path" which forced everytrhing to the internal memory.

I just re-ran my own cab and it works fine, although i might have just re-saved it.

Ive uploaded a single easy to use zip to the XDA-Develpers FTP site ftp://xda:[email protected] that you just extract to your memory card and run the 2 provided cab files.

If you want to move it all to your Navigator folder just keep the same folder name for hte maps, dont move the contents, move the entire folder.

One thing to note, if you move it all to the navigator folder then if you use tomtom home it wont actually find anything on your device :S which is strange because ifyou download anything from TTPlus via the device i.e maps, voices, schemes they all go into the Navigator folder. Weird that their own software cant recognise this.

Ive left mine all in teh root so I Can use home, I just make them hidden to keep things tidy.

Hi All,
I have this working very well on a Loox 600 - I added Guam and activated it with 12345 and it worked well. However I have copied the GB Plus map from the first page on this thread but when I try and switch map I am only offered Guam - any idea how to get it to see the other map?

Thanks in adavance

my two cents, based on my experience:

I use an asus a636n pda.

install and everything goes fine.
But somehow tt6 messes your sound up.
It deletes or alters some file which renders you unable to have sound (sound volume is constantly 0. Even if you put it to 100, it instantly returns to 0).
If tried 3 different ways f installing to no avail.

So if you have a a636n, install at own risk (sound problem solved with hard reset).

That rotten sound problem happened to me as well on the asus a636n,
There must be some sort of fix!

Any ideas anyone?

Just out of interest do 6.50 maps work with TomTom 5?

If no ones tried it I'll give it a test tomorrow.
