Well in essence the main part of it is finished now, but want to test it a little more before I release it. Also just making some final adjustments to the "Extra Sounds" file and the Names within the program.

Aso keeping my eye open for any updated maps, there's about 38Mb left on the DVD and it would be a shame to waste it!

Only English voices are included, if I can get a copy of the standard voices in any other languages from a normal Tomtom disk (in .cab .ini and .wav format) then I will happily add them to it too! (I did have them when I created the v5 Tomtom DVD but I deleted them to make space for more maps)

I have uploaded the fixed exe here for anybody who is experiencing problems with the backlight not working. simply unrar the file on your pc and copy it over and overwrite the original file on the PPC http://www.sendspace.com/file/e3ovn8

password for rar file is http://www.ppcwarez.org

enjoy

Look for a folder called 2577 with an autostart.exe in it.
If this exists on both of your cards the result may depend on which card is scanned first..
If you remove it from the CF, the SD should work flawlessly

this is a good idea.. and it worked for me. The side effect was that the first reboot after a power off, I had the TomTom autostarted (it;s autorun after all :)), then on second and so on runs.. it worked fine.

Thanks for the idea.

They are on RapidShite so I can't get them - is there a .WAV file in the rar with the .cab file? I can create the .ini my self but the wav is like a sample of the voice which is needed to integrate them into the menu. I could do it without them but I don't like cutting corners!

On a VGA screen the splash isn't full screen, not that I care about that though :D

Anyway nothing more I found sofar, except that online options don't work anymore, they did in 6.000. I removed everything from 6.000 left on my pda and did a clean install of 6.010. Strange, I will try another fresh install again.

4) Tomtom speedcams are working. But I prefer pocketgpsworld cameras, which are more uptodate and free.

Tomtom speed cam don't work on mine>How did you do it? Also can anybody explain why when I put the file of the speedcam onto the Map folder, it slowed down the response of the tomtom. Any suggestion to place them into any particular folders

Thanks

@Guest

Adding any POI's will slow tomtom down. Make sure you turn of any POI's you really dont need for me I just have the speed cams, nothing else. I dont need to know where the petrol station is as im driving. If i need to navigate anywhere you can still select the POI.

Enabled POIs just appear on the map, they dont affect navigation destination.

Turn them all off and you will see the map scolling to be as smooth as a babys bum. Turn some on and it can go slow and even as slow as 1fps.

That is the main problem. I did try to install Poi warner thou and place the speedcam poi on another folder. It still half work. I do get only verbal warning but no visual warning.
Well, what is there to complain when we all get it for free and espcially a big kudo to ifalleni

map not found
I checked for all the autostart.exe in my axim and the one in /2577 in the SD is the only one
But I still have the problem of map not found...

Otherwise I can see something special:
Every time that I use TT6.01, after it closed because it founds no map, I have a new file in my flash memory
"ttnavigator.bif" and a new folder "Voices" which contains "collected.ini"

If I delete these 2 things, they come back when I launch again TT6.01

Is there something to do with the fact taht my flash memory is the only place where TT6.01 can see the map ???

Look at my answer up in this topic : I found something for the folder "My Documents" ;
Maybe you should try the same for "My Flash Disk".
So it is not a very good solution, but it woks!
