Hi guys,

First of all, thanks a lot to OP for this awesome release. Sorry, I can donate any points 'coz I don't have any remaining :( donated everything to the iGo release.

Anyhow, I'm looking for Mid Atlantic and New England regional map for USA (the one that includes NJ NY PA MD, etc.). I saw the Southeast regional map in this thread posted, but I've yet to see this regional map.

I don't have 2gb minisd card, otherwise I would have used the complete USA map. So guys, if you have this US regional map, could you point me out in the right direction?

Thanks...

Hi Pistebeast,

Thanks, that does help... it is very similar to my layout...

2577
GB Map (actually called Great_Britain v650.1111 @ 104Mb
Guam 300k
TomTom*

*(inside TomTom folder, I have the following)

ITN
Raster (what does this one do...??)
Schemes
Voices
Zip

This is the same structure that worked for v6.000, and the v6.010 does load, and allows me to choose language, time, and all that... but at the end, says "No maps found!" :(

There are some files that look important, such as Currentmap.dat that when opened in notepad points to a location of a map, I have altered this to many places of the SD Card.. at the root, at the map folder it's self.. (not tried pointin it at Guam yet)

ttnavigator.bif this seems to have settings about my Gizmondo, ID, map details (although blank on map) I have tried entering map name and version in there....

Oddly, on the old v6.000, there was a file called ttmobile.bif that had the old map name, and version... the GB Plus @ 210Mb.

Not sure if the latest GB map is the 104Mb v650.1111??

It's really odd.... :( cries :( lol

Hope ya can get to the bottom of this... ;)

Thanks,

Lister

Hi Lister

I have now exactly the same directories indicated by Pistebeast.
The maps installed on my SD are Guam, Italia, France, Iberia, Great_Britain, Deutschland and Benelux. All these maps are working properly now.

I don't understand why the way indicated by Pistebeast does not work on your ppc.

@Lister
All the folders i listed are on the root of the sd card - all that is in TOMTOM is a file called DATA 2.61M.

Raster is where the image files are so that when you zoom out on your map it shows a photo of Europe from a satellite, or wherever your map is for (similar to google earth)

pistebeast

EDIT: Yes the GB map you have is the latest. you could try uninstalling tomtom then reinstall using Mercenarys easy install - then add the 2577 Folder with the blank Autorun.exe in it

If Guam map is present on SD, than activationCode is not required for any maps.

This is what happens on my ppc.

Bye

@ Lister

"you could try uninstalling tomtom then reinstall using Mercenarys easy install - then add the 2577 Folder with the blank Autorun.exe in it": this is exactly the way I followed to run properly tomtom on my ppc.

@ Pistebeast

To have more memory free, I moved the tomtom "Navigator" directory from \Programs to \Storage, and it works properly from that folder too.

I think you are asking for the activation code for Alps map - put the Guam map in the same place as your Alps map

@Cencio

Yes moving the navigator folder worked for me with the last version of tomtom, but this time i have left it in main memory because i use a second sd card with all the main european maps and i don't have to have the navigator folder on this card too, just the other folders :)
Anyway cheers guys I've finished my Armagnac and now i'm off to bed - i'll check with you in the morning to see if it has all worked.

cheers

At a guess, and without trying to be facetious I'd say Canada and Alaska Maps?

Hi All,

Well I have tried thie TT6 Easy install again (as I thought that was the one I had originally), I am using the lite version of it... but have also downloaded the FULL version too....

Same thing, nothing... doesnt recognise the maps, with 2577 or Guam... :(

I will try putting the TT6 on a card by itself later today to see if that helps, as I am multi-SatNav'in on this card.... ie: TomTom5, i-Go 2006, Route66 and all that from same card.....

TomTom6 (v6.000) use to work in this way, its only v6.010 that refuses to find any maps.... I have heard talk else where on this forum that there is already a v660 map for UK, so with luck that may work better.??? who knows....

But for now, I am exhuasted in getting this to work.... its a real mystery.... Grrrr :( lol

Thanks for ya help guys, if ya can think of anything else, do let me know..... esp this new v660 map if it exists.. ;)

I will try TT6.010 on a fresh card and let ya know....

Cheers,

Lister

Just a note, I had to send my PDA back for replacement, but I maintained all the program directories on the SD Card. TomTom was one of three programs that did not need to be deleted and reinstalled. I just linked to the *.exe and it ran.

The benefits, no horrible today plugin, TomTom is running perfectly on the native built in bluetooth, so no need for the TomTom bluetooth to be installed. Everything is on SD, the only part of TomTom on main memory is one link.

I do not understand why everyone is having problems, this is probally one of the easiest PDA programs to install and run.

Thanks it is perfect
