SD ROOT

Great_Britain
Gum_650

SD PROGRAM FILES

TomTom Navigator 6

(Folder)raster
(Folder)schemes
(Folder)voices
(Folder)ZIP

data.chk

navigator.cfg

TomTom Navigator.exe

ttmobile.bif (whatever this is)

ttnavigator.bif (whatever this is)

currentmap.dat \Storage Card\Great_Britain\

As I said no installation this time, this is just the program file as left behind on the SD card, I inserted it into the new PDA clicked on TomTom in explorer and it ran, so all I did was create a shortcut in main memory.

No TomTom bluetooth installed, no today installed, runs perfectly.

Haven't seen the US Southeast Region and Canada-Alaska maps coming around before. Confirmed working with TT6, they're both v650.1112

Hi Guest,

I agree, TomTom is one of the most easiest programs to install and run, and I had no probs working out how to install TomTom 5.00, 5.21, and TomTom 6.000..... however TomTom 6.010 is giving me hassle.

All my programs I have run from SD Card, I have Route66, CoPilot 2006, i-Go, TomTom 5.21, and others launching from the same SD Card, via a Launcher to boot them all...

However, v6.010 does load, it's just it cant find the Maps.... (unlike TomTom v6.000, which had no probs). I cant see why the small build would change so much from 6.000 to 6.010.

There is a difference once loaded, that it dumps a different file to my WinCE device, under 6.000 it created a ttmobile.bif (TomTom Mobile), and when running the new one, it creates a ttNavigator.bif (TomTom Navigator).

My device runs WinCE 4.20, and is the Gizmondo so it doesnt have the PPC interface from start, as it's hidden behind the Gizmondo Gui, but underneeth and through a util you can run the WinCE Desktop or from Explorer or a special Launcher Application that loads the program along with any other applications all at same time... (kinda like a batch).

Just the latest 6.010 cant find the maps, the program loads, and it lets me make choices and settings, just at the end doesnt find the maps. The rest of my SatNav's all work off the SD Card too, and dont need any installs, just copy and run... ;)

Hope I can get to the bottom of this, or I guess I have to wait for a newer build... :P

Thanks,

Lister

Something of strange in this 6.010 version of TomTom really seems to be.
I installed it on my HTC Universal ppc (WM5) without needing of 2577 folder on SD card, but Guam map is still required (not required with version 6.000).
On my HTC Alpine (WM2003 SE) instead TomTom version 6.010 requires 2577 folder (and Autorun.exe file) on SD card over Guam map (both not required with version 6.000).
Moreover, on HTC Universal bluetooth channel is properly opened and closed automatically by TomTom, on HTC Alpine bluetooth channel is opened but no more closed when exit TomTom (with version 6.000 every thing worked very well on both ppc)

I have no explanation concerning this issue. But it seems to be very strange and, perhaps, ppc or windows mobile version depending problems.
