Does it matter if i install the map folder onto the sd card before or after i copy the .dct file into the map folder. or what else could i be doing wrong. probably something stupid but cant figure it out. does these verison maps work with this tomtom navigator
would greatly appreciate the help

Hi,
If you was using correct mobile id (*.bif), key generator (8), meta file and you have still maps not activated you should have change tt version. I had personally exactly the same case with HTC Touch HD.

Hello
Thank you for this great forum!
A question for all you:
It is possible to reduce the text size in tomtom, for example in poi text menu or in address destination menu?
Thank you

Device: HTC Touch Pro

Problem: TomTom can't keep on the PDA, so after 30 seconds it switchs off. Any ideas??

Check the PDA power settings. You may have it set to turn off after 30 seconds. There are usually 2 to check, power off after inactivity on battery and on external power. I set my battery one to 1 minute and the power one to never.

No, it wasn't due to power setting, I checked it many times with different combinations.
It sounds strange, however after a hard reset now it seems to work .

I'm in the same situation with my chinese gps car radio.

Could you post the software patch and the process.

Thank's.

The fix came from Binatone and is probably only for their unit. Chances are you would trash your unit. Better to try your supplier again.

Does anyone else has problems with the voices?
Mine often says "After ... " and then nothing. Pretty annoying.

Hi Iron_Archer6!

I had the same problem with the uncompleted instructions while using the navigation.
There is a little program that will fix your problem very well : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=513621

This helped me to get complete sentences while using TOMTOM.

....

But I have an other problem with my device: I use TOMTOM 9189 on a HTC Diamond 2 and for 80% TOMTOM functions very well. But sometimes, the gps-signal locks to one location, navigation stops and my position will not be updated anymore until I quit the TOMTOM-program and starts it again.

I have the feeling, that this happens every time, my Diamond 2 can´t find a net to download the latest traffic data...

Has anyone a solution for this very annoying problem? I cannot understand where the problem could be: I tried all vga TOMTOM versions of this post with different maps but the problem still happens sporadically.

The amazing thing is, that TOMTOM "thinks" it gets the right GPS-Signal, because in the menu with the blue blocks where you can see if a signal is locked, the blocks are still blue - but the position will not change, although I didn´t stop the car!!!

Please, if anyone could help me, I would be VERY THANKFUL!!!!!!!

I'm sorry for the totally n00b question. I've been away from WM devices for a while but decided to get my old HP iPaq HX2790 up and running. I just flashed it to use WM6.5 and will just use it for GP, such as TomTom and my race timing software.

This post only has references to HTC and VGA and QVGA, how does that refer to my HX2790? Of all the many many links in this post, what is it that I actually need to download?

Again sorry for the n00b question, this place can be tricky when you don't visit often, but it always delivers the goods.
Cheers

Hello,
I installed CE version on my Akira (!). Application starts beautiful, but "no maps' screen appears every time I start it.
I put 7.20 map of Eastern Europe, patched correctly, but probably I put it into wrong path.
- What should be location of maps? (I have Flash memory - too small to put any maps and SD-card).
- Does folder name makes any difference?

Thank you for HELP

You need to remove (or rename) 2 files from the windows folder (after installing TT7):

\Windows\BtSdkCE30.dll
\Windows\BtCoreIf.dll

I already had an mp3 playing in the background, but now I don't have to start/quit it manually!

Ok I'm about to sound really stupid here. I'm typically very computer/PPC savvy so I can't understand why I can't get this to work. I've installed the original patched 7.916.9189 on my Touch Pro and it starts up just fine. Ive already activated the TomTom Map USA & Canada v835.2423. But for the life of me, I can't see where to put it. I found a folder called "My Voices" on my storage card so I thought all the voices files would go there, but when I run this app, and try to choose a voice, it says "Install from CD or go to tomtom.com" And why when I download the map from here, it has a USA_23 folder and a USA_and_Canada_835_2423. Inside the USA_23 folder is an EXACT copy of the USA_and_Canada_835_2423 folder. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Please get me back on the right track. Where do the voices go and where does the map folder go? I need a directory tree so I know its in the right spot.

Edit: got it working. Voices, maps, the whole deal.
