Same question here.
Got 9189 and it works, so dunno if I should update :P

EDIT1: For the cause ill try to install (VGA version) and see what happens

EDIT2: Installs nicely, finds old version and removes it before installing.

EDIT3: After installation, opens up normally, finds signal about same speed and is updated to 9192.
Dont see any difference though.

With the last version you can use internal gps device and it had support for hardware keys on some HTC phones.

Hide the POI.

I noticed that when POIs were shown there was a marked delay and some stuttering as it tried to catch up. As soon as I clicked on 'Show POI' icon (and it changed to 'Hide POI'), then the maximum delay is now well under a second.

The problem is that I'm using speedcam locations as POI, so hiding POI's will cost me a lot of money in time!

The Speedcam POIs will still alert you (if you have set them to 'warn when near'). All that happens with Hide POIs is that they don't appear on the map, therefore the program doesn't have to insert an icon for every ASDA, Tesco and Post Office you go past.

Just try it, and go past a known speed camera (obviously below the speed limit).

Hate to be a massive noob but i cant get my head around this.

Installed the above cab on my HTC TP2, it works but doesn't find any maps.

I've used the easytools method with a mappack i found on newzbin:

"TomTom Alps & major roads of Western Europe v840.2562"

Are there any glaring rookie mistakes here?

Thanks

Thats the exact mistake.
TomTom for PDA(Yours) or PNA does NOT find maps of build
2562, but does however find the 2561 build.

Very annoying and why it doesnt, I'm sadly unable to tell you.

Ahh many thanks,

So i just get a 2561 build, carry out the same process and all should be merry.

I'd hate to have spent all this time getting my head around the confusing method to fall at the final hurdle.

May i ask how do determine which map builds work with which version of the software? There was a graphical matrix in one of the earlier posts but it looked out of date and didn't mention my software (current) builds number.

Id there some clever algorithm to determine or is it just trial and error?

p.s. not a new member, just have been a lurker. Glad to finally have a reason to say hi to all you legends.

For anyone trying to figure out "Waiting for a valid GPS signal" or 'freezing' errors, (which obviously doesn't happen to everyone) I accidently hit on a solution of sorts - my problem was somehow caused by the PNA's default navigation s/w. Remove this, and Tomtom worked perfectly!

Not really a solution in my books, but at least I discovered the cause...

OK so i tried with UK_&_ROI_840_2561 that i downloaded from here,

followed instructions to the t and still no maps to be found.

Anybody got any ideas on what i should try, or a tried and tested working combination for the Touch Pro 2?

Thanks

I can't comment about this map but I did download UK_&_ROI_840_2562 and that didn't work either, so don't be tempted! That 'official' list doing the rounds is highly suspect - at least one other map that it assures us works with Win5ce (UK & IRL v830.2306) doesn't...

check the map compatibility first. E.g. 2562 ain't working for 7.9XX Navcores

Make sure the map folder is in root.

WVGA - 800x480
WQVGA - 400x240
VGA - 640x480
QVGA - 320x240

I realise that UK_&_ROI_840_2562 isn't compatible with TT 7.9xx, and is listed correctly as such in the 'guide'. My point is that some (many?) of the maps are listed incorrectly. I downloaded UK_&_ROI_840_2562 after UK & IRL v830.2306 (which it lists as being compatible) failed, in the hope that it's 'incompatible' listing could be wrong. It wasn't!

So do you have any map packs working with our version of the software?

All I need is a working setup as current as possible for the Touch Pro 2 for UK maps (whether that be the UK and ROI, Western Europe or whatever.)

Anybody got any tried and tested combination recommendations.

I have a long journey to make tomorrow and would really like the assistance of a GPS.

Thanks

All 840_2561 maps ARE all compatible with TT navigator 7.4xx & 7.9xx... Some charts report also 2563 ones, but for example greece 2563 doesn't work!
All 840_2562 maps (the ones with iqroutes & ALG informations) are INCOMPATIBLES with tomtom navigator.

Remember to add "note_prj.dll" file to your tomtom navigator folder to let it find maps on your device.

Bye

Remember to add note_prj.dll?

It doesn't say anything about that file anywhere here in this thread or in the easytools thread.

Just searched for it and it's not being found.

Found this on mu: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=WARME7D6 So will give a go but instruction for tomtom here are pretty bad if that's a necessary action and it's not even referenced.

edit:

With that file Maps are not being found.

For the love of god how can it be this difficult?
