How Can I Connect a Laptop with a VGA Output to a LCD TV with no VGA Input? I have a laptop Dell Inspiron 6000 and a Sharp 32" Aquos LCD TV. How do I connect the two? I've used S-Video and it works but the quality is terrible because S Video is using 680x480. The best I understand is VGA to VGA but in my case the LCD has no VGA input. Can I use a VGA to RGB Component Cable? Or VGA to DVI-I than DVI-I to HDMI? Can anyone help me?

Hi guys,

I've tried to install tomtom 7 (any version that can read 840 maps) on a Chinese generic 4.3 inches WinCE 6 machine (with ROM Version:82AV4.YFBAR.1026.0404M26409A, software Ver: V3.6.C89.10.10, OEM:YFAtlas4) but failed.

Tried and followed all procedures described by jj2 in post#1483 and the tutorial guide in undergroundgps.com and still not successful. Tomtom start-up screen displays, then followed with map selection after input the user parameters (language, units, right-hand/left hand use etc). Immediately after tapping OK in selecting map (maps have been successfully detected with duly unlocked meta.dct) and with no other message such as not enough memory etc. displayed, Tomtom exits automatically. Same happens after reset and re-run.

Also searched other sites and googled but to no avail.

Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Edit: manage to get pass the map selection menu with v.7xx maps, but then the usual not enough memory error message displayed and TT exits automatically. Checked and sure that the power setting is "Always on".

So if the map folder is found you get the "out of memory" error?

Which device have you got and where is the tomtom folder on it ? How do you start TomTom?

All I need is a working setup as current as possible for the Touch Pro 2 for UK maps (whether that be the UK and ROI, Western Europe or whatever.)

Anybody got any tried and tested combination recommendations.

I have a long journey to make tomorrow and would really like the assistance of a GPS.

Thanks

Yes, UK & IRL 815.2024 work perfectly with TT 910.9185.

It is much smaller in size than say, the 830 & 840 maps - hence the reason I tried them.

Many thanks, I used this combo on my TP2 and worked fine.

I didn't actually us the UK map pack, but the Western european of the same codenumber but all is mainly well.

I'm using Gyrator to allow the app to run in landscape, the only issue i have is that the hardware keyboard produced strange A characters when used with a little circle above them....

I was quite surprised to see that it appears cracked so the traffic looks to be updating (no error anyway), are there any other services which can be safely used?

To the poster above, use UK & IRL 815.2024 work perfectly with TT 910.9185 it should work fine. p.s. ensure you remove the two files with BTxxx at the start of their file name else they may well damage your rom build.

Sorry to hijack but can i ask if the 815.2034 map will work with TT916.9189 or would i be best to use 910?

also ( clutching at straws here) will either of these work on a htc trinity ( orange spv m700) ?

Thanks

You can try moving ttnavigator.exe to some other place; often this occurs if this file is at the wrong place.
Further try these versions, too 7.915.9196
TomTom Navigator (640x480) black: http://rapidshare.com/files/200418643/t ... _black.zip

(320x240) blue: http://rapidshare.com/files/200418642/t ... a_blue.zip

TomTom Navigator 7.910.9185
TomTom Navigator (640x480): http://rapidshare.com/files/172525491/t ... packed.zip

If unpacked version autorun.exe must be executed once from SD card.

Hey Guys,

I have a Chinese GPS unit. Fortunately with not much trouble I can get into WinCE & basically run any application I want from it. Whilst reading through the howto's on doing the installation for TomTom, I've noticed that the resolution of the screen on the unit is 480 x 272. Which of the resolutions should I be trying to use to get TomTom 7 to work on this unit?

Hello, is there anybody who is already using TomTom 7.916.9192 ?

I would like to know whether this new version involves "navigate to picture" or "navigate to contact "
Thank you

Hello,

I have an HTC Touch white with WM6 and I tried to install TomTom 7 (QVGA).
When the software initialize itself, he is asking me to download a free map but I got this message error (translate from the french): "this device is unable to download a free map. The download failed. Contact www.tomtom.com for more info."

Do you have an idea about this Pb ?

Am I doing something wrong during the instalation ?

Thanks for your support
