Would say very little except that street names are better readable: bigger letters with black lining.....but this could be introduced with 7.916.9189 version already........have used before 7.915.9196. Difference with that version is ao. fixed compass (introduced also on 9189).

none of the 7.9's work with the v7 maps. Tomtom 7.45 with v7 maps all unlocked and WORKING then go to upgrade even hard reset fresh install of 7.9 and tells me maps are not authenticated. downgrade back to 7.4 and maps work fine.

@brokestudent12

It's all perfectly normal....
TT 7.9xx uses different key-code techniques... you have to use tomtom v8 maps .dct codes...(TT 7.4x uses v7 maps .dct codes).

can someone please tell me how I can check my DEVICE ID inside TOMTOM. It directly takes me to MAP free download. I cannot access SETTINGS.

I am a NOOB with TOMTOM. I have used to work on GARMIN XT and have it fully customized.

Thank you.

copy the file named ttnavigator to you computer and open that file with the note pad and you will see your device id you will find this file in two places in the root of your Microsd card and in the place were installed/program files/navigator

You need to create a folder My Documents on the root of the SD Card and put the maps inside.
