HERE IS THE DETAILED TOMTOM MAP INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS I WROTE TO HELP NEW BEES:
If it helps let me know, If you guys feel like i need to change something let me know. Anyway this is what I did and it works for me.
1. Download the TomTom software installation cab and run installation on the device (phone storage). The cab file can be found under the name of TT7_910.9185_SIGNED.htc_diamond_cracked. This cab is not the map but it is the TomTom software interface to run the map.
2. After you install the TomTom software cab, you can follow the instructions on the phone and go on your mobile phone web browser to download a free map .cab file of your local area. I encourage people to download the free map just to play around with the installation to familiarize and make sure everything works.
3. The newly installed TomTom software will not have a Voice for you to Navigate the sample map you downloaded for free. Go on the internet and download TomTom voices, you can get celebrity voices for free. Create a folder called “voices” on your storage card and put the voice file in there. The voice file will be either 2-3 files, the files include images of the voice sometimes. Just put all the voices file in that “voices” folder on storage card. Once it is on there you can navigate the software and choose the voice of your choice.
4. Download TomTom map of your choice whether it is version 7 or version 8. Make sure the map version is going to be compatible with the TomTom software program you have chosen. (Since I went with the TomTom 7.9.10 software for HTC devices, I will go with the USA and Canada maps
Version v825.2022)
5. Find the TomTom map file of your choice and download it (Extract the .Rar Map file into a Map Folder) Leave the map folder alone on your computer desktop and we will get back to it.
6. Locate a .rar file/folder on the web called “Easyusetools_for Keygen_Mapcheck_Metacheck_ttsystempatcher” This folder has all the components in there to help you generate the key to get the map to register.
7. Open the Easyusetools folder. You will find an empty folder called “insert_meta_from_Map_here” , leave it alone for now. Go to the map folder you have extracted and locate a file called “USA_and_Canada-22.meta”. Copy this file from your extracted map folder and paste it into the folder “insert_meta_from_Map_here”
8. Browse the Storage Card on your phone and you will find a folder called “ttnavigator.bif” Open this read file with pocket word or you can copy this file to your computer desktop and open it with Microsoft Word. Once the file open you will see a bunch of text. The 4th line down will look something like “DeviceUniqueID=AB7HED5YQS”. Well, AB7HED5YQS is my device ID, you will see your device ID here. Write down the device ID cause you will need it soon.
9. Go back to the Easyusetools folder and you will find a text file there called DEVICEID. Open the text file and put copy/paste your device ID there, save the text file and exit.
10. Open the Easyusetools folder again and you will see a folder called Progs. Open the Progs folder and you will find a text file called meta. Once you open the meta text file you will see all the map IDs are listed there. Make sure you see the map you are about to use ‘s ID is listed in the meta text file. For example , I will be using USA and Canada maps Version v825.2022 which the meta ID will be ” ; USA_and_Canada_815_2022CD 3C 9F E1 26 08 5B 3B 46 3C 89 E2 30 EB 1F 97 USA_and_Canada-22.meta”. If you do not see your map meta ID in the meta text then just locate it on the web or forums and add it.
11. Open the Easyusetools folder again and Run "RunMeforDCT.cmd", choose option "1" and choose option "1" again.
12. Open the Easyusetools folder again and go to the “insert_meta_from_Map_here” folder. In this folder you will find a DCT File called USA_and_Canada-22.meta. Copy this file into your extracted map folder. Rename your map folder to “Map” and copy the map folder onto the storage card.
13. Restart your TomTom software and go to map management and select the newly installed map and you are good to go !
